Great visual for packing skis in a snowboard bag! Only concern is the brakes being pushed down flat for the whole journey but I doubt they would actually get damaged.

You said this method allows you to only check in one bag but you didn’t mention where your ‘normal/apres’ clothes go

With today’s 30kg limit on oversize bags. A second set of skis with poles will push it very close to that limit and you might be repacking at check in...

i like to wrap my helmet in a garbage bag to protect it from scratches while its being packed,
