Thank you for your question. All of our Rosco Digital Compositing Paints feature excellent adhesion. When applied to a properly primed floor, the DigiComp paints should not peel off when people walk across it.

Thanks Rotter Studios. The one major thing to consider between the two paints (besides color purity) is sheen level. Most consumer paints - even the ones labeled as having a flat finish - will have a sheen. That sheen could end up reflecting your lights and showing up on camera as white or yellow (not green). This could contaminate your key. Be sure to test before you commit. Best of luck with all of your upcoming video shoots!

@@rosco_labs yeah, I did a comparison by getting some paint mixed using a dried paint swatch using Rosco chromakey blue just to see the difference- and it’s incredible how much more pigment is in your paint. The blue from Home Depot looks so dull next to it. I’m about to paint my walls for a video project and I’m really looking forward to less issues when lighting (the matte quality of this paint is great) and when I get to the post production phase ❤️ thanks for removing some future headaches for me! ☺️

Hello Allison. Thanks for your comment. We recommend white. The satin finish of the primer doesn't really affect the matte finish of the Chroma Key paint and the extra gain (brightness of your green screen) you get from having a white underlayer is helpful. A black underlayer will diminish the brightness of your green screen somewhat.

It depends on your setup. The most important thing in any green/blue screen setup is to make sure the green/blue screen is lit evenly. The texture might cause small shadows to show up on camera. But, if the texture is subtle enough, you might be able to set your camera up so that the green/blue screen in the background is just out of focus enough that all those tiny shadow-areas blend away. In either case - if the concrete walls are in the shot with the mirrored whiteboard from your other comment - you'll definitely want to make sure they are primed the same way. That way, you are painting the same base surface, which will help make sure the resulting color is the same on the two different substrates.

Hello Stathi and thanks for your inquiry. Yes - DigiComp HD is also available in Blue: www.rosco.com/product/digicomp-hd. Use Part #150 05750 0128 for single gallons. Part #150 05750 0640 if you need 5 gallon buckets.

That's a tough one. If you can find a primer to stick to the mirrored whiteboard, then yes, probably. Definitely a good idea to test a small, out-of-the-shot area first, if you can. We also make a pretty good primer - #6050 Rosco Tough Prime White. You might try that or a neutral grey primer.

You bet Dwayne. DigiComp HD has an approximate coverage of 300 sq. ft. per gallon (27 sq. m per gallon). Due to the nature of the bright pigments used in this paint, two coats of DigiComp HD are recommended for even coverage.

You're probably right. Our Chroma Key (non-HD) paints are suitable for 80%-90% of the keying work that is done. It's a workflow issue. If you need a really pure green to use in post-production - then the DigiComp HD is the way to go. Having that pure green makes it easier to light when you're shooting and easier to key in post. This is especially useful if you're pulling complicated keys like ultra-closeup work, or high-speed/slo-mo projects. If the bulk of your content is relatively simple ("talking head," etc.) - then the Chroma Key paints are an excellent choice for you.

@podpod - We always recommend priming your suface. Most people use our Tough Prime White: www.rosco.com/product/tough-prime or they use a light, neutral-grey primer.

Thank you for your question Jintaro. We think you are asking about the difference between our "DigiComp" and our "Chroma Key Video Paint." The main difference is the color and how that color performs in post-production. DigiComp is a more precise green, enabling the post-production software suites to hone in on the color for precise keying. This is especially helpful for complicated keying - such as special effects or slo-mo shots. The Chroma Key is wonderful for most green/blue screen shots.

@@jintarokensei3308 yes - as long as you are referring to Blue or Green “Chroma Key Video Paint.” We also offer “TV White Video Paint” and “TV Black Video Paint,” which would not work for blue/green screen.
