The last minute addition of the group of trees….perfection!

Thank you for the lovely, refreshing "art retreat" you took me on this morning, although I'm 3600 miles away! Yes, the group of trees on the far right was just the thing to finish off the painting.

I think you are spot on in adding the trees and fence in the end… they balance it and make it look finished.

So much to love about this video. Not only the painting of a beautiful scene, including the addition of the trees toward the end, but also your great instruction especially on shadows. The highlight for me was the shadow of the big tree. Outstanding.

Oh the lovely bridge!! As for those extra trees at the end, yes 😁they were necessary & maybe the fence. But I think that I will have to give them a go towards the start of the painting before doing the green background grasses because I will mess it up trying to add them in the end. As we had a Memorial Day holiday in the USA on Monday, my days are now mixed up. I finally realized it was Watercolor Wednesday with Paul! (In my mind, today was Tuesday). Paul it always amazes me how your paintings usually go through a rough stage and look wonderful when they are finished. I started painting last year at 79 years old but found it so difficult. one thing that you do that makes it much easier for people like me is the line drawing that you give us. I have realised from your paintings that we have to keep going and it may in my case look reasonable for a beginner. So my thanks to you. please keep them coming.

This is Stunninggggggg 😍 Paul , I feel it's much better than the original photo. Your painting has more life. With your lovely light and shade details. Your color choices which make it brighter. Your shadowing that creates depth. And never to forget your most beautiful trees. Absolutely stunning. I am actually out of words for this one. How always it takes shape from a rubble of paint ... Beautiful , cascading willow and cascading birch are two of my most favourite trees. We can't grow the willow in our yard as it grows enormous. But we have a magnificent cascading willow. Which has grown to it's full splendour. And we enjoy it's dancing wispy branches ... They are tall and graceful 🥰🥰🥰 Thank-you , for these lovely , informative tutorials. Again, I watched this with my hospital bound mother, who is just itching to get back to painting and really wants to give this one a try herself when home again. You inspire her! Now realize after watching this video that an obvious mistake I've been making is the lack of soft edges. The way I've been painting is more akin to colouring book art. Big mistake.
