Since the theme for Project 1Ton is gray with glossy black accents I thought it necessary to paint the door handle.

I'm hoping to paint my car this week or next...and this was how I planned to do the smooth painted door panels I bought for the project. Thanks for the tip with the vice grips. I was trying to decide how I was going to keep it open so I can paint everywhere I want to. Thanks!

I've got a handle with a chrome strip down the middle and needs to be painted. What's the best method to mask it?

Fine line tape will give the cleanest edge.

Great video, i am in the middle off the proces of doing them for the second time. This time i took them out and that is no fun. Of course the paint fell off again because i didn't follow these tight rules when it comes to plastic. Yes you wiped it off you blew off the dust and then you touched it with your dirty fatty hands. No i am just joking, i am going to use some ISO 70%. Then some 2K primer, undercoat, basecoat and clearcoat. I need to do 4 of them. It is a sencerily thumbs up.

Only a lamebrain would plasidip - especially on a door handle. That makes zero sense!

That doesn't work out for anyone with paint matched handles. Also no way plastiDip is going to hold up somewhere constantly getting handled, like a door handle.
