I used the following colours for the background and shadows:
Black
Phthalo blue
Dioxazine purple
Turquoise
Hat, dress and face:
Neon warm yellow
Neon red
Neon pink
Burnt Sienna
Titanium white

Joni, you are so right about waiting a few days before you decide about a painting. Some of the paintings I have done and thought they were the worst ones I have done, ended up being my favorites. Of course not all had this reaction but most turned out good.

I spend long hours working at home on my writing and photography...nothing but nothing lets me relax like your videos. They are wonderful and beautiful and soothing...There is great value in what you do. I wish you only the best. Peace and Gratitude.🙏

That brush in your hand is like a magic wand. You never cease to amaze me at the way you create these beautiful pieces without even having a sketch. I love these paintings with ladies in big hats . Looks so easy when you do it but not quite as easy for me, however I try! Thank you so much for keeping us inspired to paint!

Joni, this is beautiful!!! You're so inspirational as sometimes I think I could never do a particular piece, yet your guidance truly makes so much difference! I've learnt for myself to watch the video through a few times first works, I jot notes in a book and I'm improving so much thank you, if your fan's could see my paintings from year ago compared to now, you'd be inundated with students even more!👵🇭🇲❤️

@@joniyoungart I tell others my present teacher is Joni young via video's! You're the first artist I started watching and remain to as being ADHD and left handed I can struggle so seeing someone also a leftie helped development of my struggle strokes, fine lines and blending. Watching and then painting with you made all the difference as wasn't getting it for many many months - about ten! Thanks again for taking time to reply, that's so thoughtful.🙏💐

I didn’t gesso, I’m using a double primed canvas but you could gesso first if you like!
