I tried to follow a different video to paint a rose and it ended up looking like a big red blob! Can't wait to try this, I am 70 yrs old and have always wanted to learn to paint. Thanks to you and KZfaq I am ready to give it a try.

I love how you just let the brush add colour to the paper and you have a rose. The way you use your brush is MAGIC. Thank you for this most wonderful and generous tutorial, Trevor. I feel like I can do this ... with practice. Your painting is like a beautiful dance ... just amazing. 🙏🙏. I love roses and grow them. I picked a dark red from the garden a couple of weeks ago, and since I recently started learning Watercolour, I thought I could paint it. 🥰. I did not do it in layers and beautiful strokes ... while I loved the color intensity, it lacked dimension. Thank you for this “slow dance” demonstration. It inspires me immensely. I purchased your little book from Amazon: ‘Learn Flower Painting Quickly’. It arrived in the mail today. I sat down with it and tried a couple. I am a beginner and it was frustrating. But, I am fortunate, for several hours later, I have just found this Video on KZfaq. And, I know that tomorrow will be a better practice day for me. Thank you from the bottom of my Heart. Greetings from San Diego. I just love watching how you move your paint brush and I am learning from you. I’ll be 60 this Christmas, and it’s a joy to watch you paint. Very well done! Learned a lot. I've seen several vids where they have a red rose for a subject and the artist paints a pink one with just red high lights. I wanted to see a red rose being painted red. I struggle a bit in the shadows. I paint mostly still life or landscapes. Thanks again for posting this. It's very helpful! :)
