Today we're learning how to paint ANY dragon/monstrous skin or scales, these techniques will work on any colour, and we've gone as far as showing how to do a dark and light variant, using the same paints!
The model used is the Stormcast Stormdrake Guard kit, but you can use this on anything!

In today's tutorial we're looking into how to paint Dragon Skin for your Warhammer and Warhammer 40k monsters, these techniques will work for all scales and thick textured skin, and the techniques are transferrable.
We're going for dark burnt red and lighter red, but using the same steps and our rules you could apply this to any colour you like!

Would there possibly be a way to drybrush a dragon to make it look metallic without using metallic paints? Basically a quick and easy way to do NMM on a dragon without taking 10 years to complete lol.. If not, what would be the best ways to paint metallic colors without making it look derpy? That would be a good video I think, since I know a lot of ppl paint a more classic style Fantasy dragon with metallic colored wings... Just a thought. I think another cool color that you don't often see is a Pearl colored dragon, that would look pretty sick.

It is Halloween, and i paint a Corpse Cart... but i would like to see, how you would paint the Flayed Ones Necrons, with heavy Gore and realistic Skin, from fresh to rotten.

It's be great to see a video on how to get a good undead flesh, I'm thinking more ghouls than zombies or vampires for that slow putrefying look.

A tutorial on doing an "organic" bronze and/or gold would be awesome and make it much easier to paint all the weyrs of Pern.

I want to see an elder copper dragon that has patina. I think that would lend really well to a dry brushing tutorial to really have some great verdigris on it.

Another excellent and concise tutorial! Now it seems I have finally found another great way to paint 25-28mm scale dragons that is not too complicated for my D&D sessions.

I would love to see a video on how you go about picking base colours depending on what you intend the end colour to be and how that effects the process of choosing the colours in between. I am having trouble creating smooth gradients and I think it’s down to picking the wrong colours for the desired affect.

An updated in depth how to with tips and tricks for smooth drybrushing including everything from how damp etc, hard to show on camera but very useful!

I think the dark one really turned out awesome. Especially after the last wash. I could imagine it on a yellow dragon where you let the yellow encapsulate the leathery wings. Great video as always.

Huge fan of The Painting Coach and his tutorials on Karazai and Krondys. Would love to see some takes on how you would theme a base for different types of dragons.
