For the German WW2 Uniform, the color is called Fieldgrey. German Grey is the color the Germans applied to their vehicles, later in war they changed to another color to Dunkelgelb. Cheers mate

If you want to, sure😊 As for me. I almost never paint anything that isn't fully put together. I would in some cases (if it would make paining easier) and only if I was to paint something extremely nice for a painting competition or something. For tiny guys as these, and with miniatures for the tabletop not for the display cabinet, no. I would lose the pieces🤣

Welcome then, to this amazing hobby! Hm, well, I started out as a child when I got my first little paint set and a few models as a Christmas gift. Lord of the Rings miniatures as that was back when one of the movies was active at cinema. And I don't know, I just started. As you do when you are a child. I can't really imagine how it would be starting out as an adult, and also today there is instagram and videos and all that stuff so in many ways i suppose it's easier now? Then again I imagine it could be hard seeing what other people do and try to live up to that. Which you probably wont as a new painter. My advise, just do it. Pick something cool that inspire you and just start. Use internet/instagram/youtube as inspiration but don't be afraid to try out stuff for your self. As long as it's fun and you are happy, you are doing it right😉
