I am in the middle of a move at the moment, so I sadly am leaving a lot of my BTech buddies. At a minimum, I have to paint some Com Guard and an unspecified Clan force. I may be able to talk the other half into filming some small games with me to do a learn to play type series once we get settled.

Thanks! Between now and the Mercenaries Kickstarter delivery I have a Comstar force to paint and I have to settle on a Clan to paint as well. I may give the solo Alpha Strike rules a try as well!

They are great! I highly recommend the Ammo/AK products. They take out a lot of the guess work by having the perfect mix for whatever effect you want to do.

OOF, 00:14 gave me a guilty laugh! We don't talk about Kentares... Nice tutorial, though! Not *quite* sure about the non-metallic grey areas, but you do make it look good! And the cockpits... Mmmm. Definitely stealing that.

I'm a big fan of enamels as well. Use them all the time and I'm trying them out on my first Lance atm.

That’s awesome. I originally picked up using enamels to make painting tanks easier for larger scale games, but the number of useful applications for these paints are endless.

Glad to have found your video. Nice job on the SoL mechs. To be honest I prefer going at the panel lines with a micron pen rather than using ink.

Thank you! Micron pens are great for a nice clean look. I will use them sometimes if I want to go for a fresh from the factory paint job.

the scheme is great but the bases don't really add to the aesthetic if you were to rethink the basing what would you do differently?

If I could do it all over again, I would probably stick with the Geek Gaming Scenics range, but switch up to the grim dark urban scatter. As is, I would probably go back in with some weathering powder and darken the bases with some earth tones. Unfortunately, the bases are a little small to go nuts on scenic bases like I can for Titanicus. You could probably get away with a couple of small ruined wall/building corners though. Maybe a infantry man to give a sense of scale.

Very cool. I’m going to try this for sure. Would you use the same panel wash if you were shading white mechs?

You definitely can, but you have options! A super dark blue can work well for a cool white. The brown I used here would work well with a warm white. Black works for both types of white. And lastly, “Streaking Grime” works for pretty much anything and looks like dirt/grime that accumulated.
