1st of all, great score by your sister!👏 I think u did a fantastic job & I love it! I have a couple of faux lady head planters & they just look so cheap & fake, but I knew a good paint job would do the trick. Thxs for sharing! Can't wait to try your technique out.

Love it! I'm so glad that you were conservative in the amount of the little speckles you used. Too often I've seen pieces where too much was done and I think how much more appealing if the "artist" had remembered, "less is more". Good job!

I’ve just done this the best I could with the paint I already had at home it was a broken Budda lamp and I filled it with concrete and now very heavy haha and saw this and absolutely great idea ❤

So I had an outdoor statue that I bought from Toscano. After a few years, it ended up with some cracks and holes. I patched the holes with texture paste, and followed these instructions/ steps, to tee, right down to the paint choices. What a transformation! It actually looks better than when I initially purchased mine.

I love this. I do a lot of these , but I’ve never added the fly speck - I like the effect! I would definitely spray her with an outdoor rated matte top coat but you know your Dixie products :) just love the transformation❣️ 🙏

OMG!!! I LOVE this stone finish! It looks so easy and absolutely beautiful! I was out looking for a few new planters and the price tags were just depressing!! They were all so expensive! Now, I'm confident that some of the plastic containers I have, will soon look like beautiful stone containers!! Could you give me the name of the spray protectant you used ? Thank you Denise!

Hi Maria! i wouldn't suggest adding shaved chalk but it is easy to make your own DIY version with what you probably already have at home. Hope this helps salvagedinspirations.com/best-homemade-chalk-paint-recipes/
