I love doing a brilliant blue variant over their optic lenses as well. It pops really nicely against the khorne red and abaddon black. Almost gives it a borderlands look

something i would do first is dry brush some leadbelcher or other gun metal color on the metal areas that are black and then a color like ushabti bone or another tan color over the fabric areas just to give it some more color

Either same red casing as on Farsight, or if you want black guns check my Tau Ghostkeel tutorial that shows how to do those

How do you build up the paint on your brush for the edge highlighting? The tips on my brushes never seem to be as organized as yours

When i take it out of the paint, i twist the brush into a point - i also dab off any excess paint on a paper towel

Any chance you got tips to fly tho the box colors iv got a kill team of tau but id like to make it a full army but my dumb ars thought the box colors lookeds cool but omg that was annoying to do black and white one little mistake and it looks like crap

Mephiston red, Abaddon Black, Nuln oil, iron hands steel, retributor armour will enable you to base everything The add stormhost silver, evil sumz scarlet, yriel yellow to do all the highlights

The black wash is only in recesses and the highlight is not all over

I don’t have nun oil can I use agrax earthshade as a replacement??

You can try - it might not show up as well - you could use a very thin black paint and put this into the recesses only

I know this is a beginner guide but i would advise on a layer of mephiston red before the shading as the color matches better and go with a dark grey primer and just shade everything with nuln oil. It is still really beginner friendly but looks like someone out more than 3 minutes into a firewarrior

I think you sort of answered your own question/statement there...it's for beginners ... Keep it simple otherwise it can be overwhelming for those just starting.

Doing a dark grey primer and shading with nuln oil will just look like you primed it grey and shaded with nuln oil
