Lovely guide! A buddy just talked me into the hobby, and Chaos Gate helped me settle on Grey Knights, so I have a ton of painting to do! Lovely work. Your Gold detail is something I was wondering how I would do and that is just super.

2:03 I proselytize using space wolf grey contrast paint as it accomplishes this faster than drakenhoff nightshade

Hey i just wanted to thank you for this tutorial. I painted my first grey knight mini with this method and it looks good enough to put it on the table. Aethermatic blue is very nice indeed. I used purple for the red parts and the cloaks.

Hi thanks for the great video I'm wondering how you got your Aggaros Dunes contrast paint to be so bright gold, I'm currently painting a Nemesis Dreadknight and the colour is going on a lot darker than the video, any help would be appreciated, thanks Mark

Hi Mark, it is probably the silver paint underneath that is making it darker. The silver I've used is very bright. If you've used Leadbelcher it would be darker, so maybe some stormiest silver would be a good alternative to brighten it up? You could instead dry brush over the areas you've painted with a bright metal paint to make it pop. That might actually be a good effect with the darker metal underneath giving more contrast.

I can’t find that spray in Aldi at the moment. Any recommendations for an alternative?

I haven't tried any other metal sprays, but I am sure most furniture spray paint will work fine.

when i tried doing the drakenhoff nightshade, i found it wouldnt tint the armor blue, it would just pool and run off on most of the armor. was it my technique, or maybe the silver paint i used made it too slick?

Oh no, but it's hard to say. I didn't use a huge amount, and the different paints can definitely effect things. I used a cheap spray paint which was pretty glossy. It is quite a subtle finish.
