Who else loves jewel-tones? This piece was inspired by the colourful jewel-tones of the ocean. In this tutorial I will show you how to blend and spray paint chalk paints with black wax, to show you how to achieve this very bohemian look.

This is just stunning. You had me going there for a bit w/all that gold, but I should of known the end effect would be awesome. And I love the idea w/the watered down paint & blow dry. Great idea!

I love the finished product...it was one of those "trust the process" pieces. I think I'm sold on the the spray bottle process as well as the gloss clear coat. It is beautiful as always. Thanks for always emphasizing the "have fun with it" attitude! Patty K.

What a pleasure to watch you work on your pieces. You achieve a one-of-a-kind look each and every time. You are so bold with your paints and technique that I tend to hold my breath watching your risk-taking approach. But then you gain control and pull things back just enough. I haven't had the courage yet to approach the method you use, but I plan to abandon my controlled style in favor of yours to give it a whirl. ~gulp! Stunning ❤️ I would like to know how you deal with all the drip on the bottom of the draws, and in side of the draws.

Thank you! You can pull them out and wipe off while wet, but I worry that will have an affect on the way the drips settle. Honestly I just get a little bit of sandpaper and sand away the paint that has settled where it shouldn't have.

Hi Jodi, this piece came out beautiful. You are very talented. But i am a bit perplexed. At 8:23 in the video, you have blues with dripping yellow. Then at 8:30 in the video, i am looking at a different set of colors. There's very little yellow, mostly blues but also reds coming out. What have you done in between that we don't see? How did reds appear? I would love to see the process. Thank you.

Hmm I'm not sure I see it... that being said when a lot of water is used, it can break up the pigments in the paint so I'm wondering if that is what you are seeing 🙂

Not long Linda... Just fifteen minutes and then I wiped away the excess. Hope you are having fun!

I put on one layer but put it on quite thick, from what I remember.

Can I achieve this look with regular interior paint and not chalk paint?

My honest answer Jesse is that I'm not sure. It's something I haven't tried. If the interior paint is water based and can be mixed with water, then I don't see why not. Maybe you could test a little bit of scrap wood first
