Yes indeed. This paint is a professional-style paint product. It's permanent and actually becomes part of the glass. Thanks for watching! We have a live stream Q&A every Monday at 7pm EST, to answer any questions you may have about this process.

I am sooooo happy I found this! Thank you so much for sharing! I have been wanting to be able to do this for a long time and I'm finally to the point where I probably can, since I've worked with my kiln for a while now. So excited and love your videos! :-) But I do have a question, are you all using fusible glass to heat in kiln? (I use Bullseye, and I'm assuming you use that type of glass for any pieces you need to put in the kiln, but I want to double check)
@ARTyRV
@ARTyRV 3 жыл бұрын
We use fusing compatible glasses when we are fusing pieces together. Otherwise we use a different type of glasses when painting on glass.

Last question, lol,...this may sound silly, but once your paint is fired on and cooled, when you go to clean up your panel and wax it, you don't have to worry about the paint coming off while washing? I use whiting after I wax to get a really nice clean surface. That's a little abrasive, so, I was just wondering??? Thank you for all you share, I feel like I'm learning so much! :)
@ARTyRV
@ARTyRV 3 жыл бұрын
Once fired keep the chemicals and glazing/whiting away from the painted pieces. Putty by hand on the painted pieces. The whiting can discolor the paint to a grey. Otherwise the paints are permanent and a part of the glass. I hope this helps!

Wow super cool have always wondered how the painting was done on the glass. I don’t have anything to fire it in do you have any suggestions on something I could start with. Just do stain glass for a hoppy.

Just to clarify, on the scroll piece, you painted the black trace around first and fired it....then you painted over the whole glass piece to cover everything? When the paint dried, that's when you scratched away your paint layer for shading?

Yes exactly!

Hi - just branching out into glass painting from stained glass & glass engraving. I don't have a kiln & because of my situation, won't be able to use one where I'm at. I've used oven baked glass paints a few times so my question is can I bake Rouche paints in a kitchen oven? My other question is: I understand after using the black lining, you do your first firing. Now do you do a second firing after laying down your yellow/gold color before putting the shading on? If not, how do you keep from scraping away the gold color along with the shading by accident?
@ARTyRV
@ARTyRV 3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, no. You will need low fire paints.
@ARTyRV
@ARTyRV 3 жыл бұрын
You fire between each layer of color. The color then becomes permanent.

You use a latex (gum Arabic) based paint on glass.I use a latex based paint (acrylic latex interior house paint or chalkboard paint from the dollar store) on non absorbent surfaces like glass,plastic or holographic laser foil because latex paint dries stretchy not stiff and therefore latex paints don't crack on non absorbent surfaces
