Is there any inexpensive way....like paint wise what else can be used.. Also will the color fade or anything in rain or outside in garden.... Can i use gesso and oil paints?

Does primer work as a sealer as well?

Nope, primer is used as a base coat which forms a smooth surface on which paint glides like magic and colors appear brighter. Sealer is used to protect the paint from water.

Seal after painting! Let me guide you in detail : 1. Soak terracota pots in water for atleast 3-4 hours and let them dry completely 2. Prime (optional) 3. Paint and dry completely 4. Seal with lacquer or varnish

Nope, final coat of varnish protects the paint from water and sun
