In this tutorial I show you how to paint Tyranid Warriors so you can get them ready to play Warhammer 40,000
This is an easy to follow guide that uses Citadel products to achieve fantastic looking miniatures, even if you’re new to the hobby.

These are by far the best tutorials I've ever seen. Each one has the same tips, the same brushes, the same techniques. Extremely consistent and easy to apply across entire factions of models.

The production quality and presentation in this video was excellent. I can't recall if you've done it in previous videos, but I thought showing all the paints used for a particular section all at once is a great touch. I think it'll make coming back to reference the video as you paint a lot easier. Keep up the great work, looking forward to future videos!

As others have said, these are the best tutorials for tyranids that I've seen. So so useful to know which brushes you're using for each stage. Makes it much easier for a beginner like me to not end up with 'nids that look like thumbs!

just got 6 tyranids for christmas & all the tools needed apart from paint! these will be my first self-painted models, so hopefully it goes well and i get a result that i am satisfied with, though by no means amazing. not sure ill have the motorskills and experience to pull off your final result, but it's really helpful for technique building and obviously the theme. cheers!

Painting the warriors was a lot of fun. Really good for new painters as they’re more organic and you rely more on washes than highlights. If you take your time and follow the steps in the tutorial, you’ll have no problem. Practice on the spare bits in he box for practice 😃

You should try hive fleet jörmungandr, they don’t have any good videos and are quite hard to paint correctly (trust me I’ve tried 😂)

I enjoyed painting this warrior. I probably will do more in the future but maybe different hive fleets. The colours and techniques I used in this tutorial can be applied to any size tyranid. Once you painted a couple then you’ll feel confident enough to tackle any size tyranid 💪🏻

if you were to go with a brighter purple for the armor, would you just axe the abaddon black mixed in the naggaroth night? im looking to do a Zerg themed 'Nids force and wanna do the purple

If I were to do Zerg Tyranids? the purple is a very electric saturated purple. I would start with xereus purple and use genestealer purple for the carapace texture. the final highlight is difficult though because I don't think there really is a colour to match. try mixing in some bright red maybe to get that electric pink for the highlight or check out other rages for that colour?

Hi ! If i use carroburg crimson in 1:5 Lahmian medium for replace volupus pink is it good like the vidéo ?

I wouldn’t use red instead of pink. You won’t get the same fleshy undertone.

Tiamat is a cool Colour scheme. I don’t have any plans for other tyranid give fleets at the moment though. I’m sure I will in the future though and I’ll certainly consider doing Tiamat 👍🏻

Would water work to thin down the wash?

For a small area it would be fine. But if it’s to do the flesh i really would invest in some lahmian medium. Water doesn’t really distribute the pigment evenly and you get tide marks causing it to dry weird. Lahmian medium thins the shades evenly and you get a nice spread.

A pure life savior gonna do This step by step on the rest of my nids Btw i have made a Mayor screw up on 30 of my termagaunts i coated them with lahmedian medium and magos purple and they kinda turned into pink abomanasions anyone got a tip on how to fix it efficently?

just layer up with Wraithbone. its gonna take a little longer but its not a disaster :) just keep that wraithbone to more of a glaze consistancy

A quick tip if you want to get more watch time and views you should ad some art instesad of a white background behind your minis. If you do you should probably ad some background art that compliments the scheme of the model.

I have considered this. I like the blank background because the focus is on the model then. My watchtime is really good and views are up so I’m not sure it would do much. It’s my style as well 😃 but I appreciate the advice 👍🏻
