Like some of the other comments suggested, I would also love to see you do a video including some longer flare or boot cut jeans. These are back in style, and can be so flattering and leg-lengthening!

I’ve been watching a lot of videos like these & am finally figuring out the difference between straight leg, skinny, bootcut, wide leg, flare, cropped, petite, low, mid high rise etc. And the different type of boots & booties, toe shape, heel shape & height, shaft height/width etc etc. I’m 5’4” and find some of the ‘rules’ work & some don’t seem to. I think as well as taking into account height, and body type (pear, apple etc) and overall style, therefore are other factors that can affect the overall look. Eg I have quite long narrow feet, so need to be careful to choose shoes that fit well & aren’t too wide, as they are then loose and also look too big. Pointed toe shoes or boots often make my feet look too long in shorter length pants & jeans, but they can work if disguised with a full length wide, flare or bootcut jean.Pointed toe boots can feel uncomfortable because my foot slides forward into them & my toes get crushed. I think some of the pointed toes boots are better suited to a shorter foot with short toes as it will sit better in the boot, still look petite and not squash the toes! Also the width of the ankles and legs make a big difference especially with cropped jeans or dresses. Ironically although I have narrow long feet - I also have slightly thicker ankles & calves than average (not sure where that particular combo came from!) so narrow shafted ankle boots are too tight for me & a sock bootie would create the look of a ‘leg muffin top’ over the top of the boot - not v flattering. While someone with leaner narrower legs can look great in them. So I think although though there can be some basic rules to start with, it is a bit of trial and error due to our various idiosyncrasies. And I do think factor like the shape & size of our feet & legs as well as height can play quite a big role in what works. I thought the pointed-toe boots with the straight- leg jeans looked good on you & not too big and were even one of the best looks for you in the video. But maybe it looked different on the small screen of my phone :)

You are lucky that you are thin and that helps a lots with styling. You have lot of options like tucking the top in the Jean. I cannot do that. Thanks 🙏🏻

Elana, have you tried flare jeans? I think they’re making a comeback and can be really flattering for petites. It would be helpful to show us what shoes look great with them.

Hi Elana. You can completely ignore and disagree with my opinion, but as for me, the way you crop all your jeans doesn’t make you look taller or your legs look longer. I would say it makes you even more petite. I remember you said that you don’t find long bootcut or flare jeans to be flattering for you. Can you try to style them with heels in your next video? I can’t believe they will not look flattering on you

“Out of style” is outdated. I buy classic and nowadays the idea is to cherish what we have to not burden the planet unnecessarily . I won’t get rid of my ballet flats unless they are ruinned. Besides the beauty of todays fashion is to allow virtually every style and size, so we use what flatters us and not what fashion dictates.

Each time I am watching one of your videos I wonder why I think straight leg jeans at the length you like them are like cropped, but not cropped enough. I like mine long like touching the floor when waring them without shoes so they are a bit over the floor with ballets and an inch or a few over for heels. Obviously, we are both free to use our own styles, what I wanted to point out is that I think many of the shoes you are mentioning in the "don't"s for them would look better with lengthier jeans. I would love to see this for dresses as well

I think it is important for me personally to have my jeans custom tailored. I am short and I love an almond shaped boot and flats. I am loving the more platformed boots this fall but I get them with just lightly chunky style. I am 4ft 11 and I am 45 so I to be saphisticated and only dress casual when shopping or normal day. And yes I still love burgundy sometimes but I pair very lightly. And I am going to wear my pink denim Jean Jacket this fall. Sometimes it isn't about trends it is what you like and be yourself ultimately.

None of those shoes are working for you because the jeans are too short for you. Straight leg jeans should be a few inches longer.

Love your videos! I do have one small tip if you're openminded. I think you would get even more subscribers if you cut down on the amount of times you say skinny jeans, straight leg jeans, etc. It's the repetitive thing that may keep you from getting a lot of subscribers. I actually understand why you're doing that, and I can see myself doing same thing if I was trying too hard to be clearly spoken. Just relax like in a real conversation and let go of the repetitive wording. But I will continue to watch your videos because I enjoy them! Thanks.
