Also, the 422 was terrible. Because my gaining unit needed it in order for me to crosstrain or even accept me. I started working on getting my 422….8 months ago and just got it. They never answer phones or emails. Ever. Finally got it, i was so thankful. This john was so hardd. So thankful to be getting final approval this week

Hello there! Well the process only gives you about 90 days from start to finish to complete it or else they make you wait another year to apply. So you can apply around then. BUT I would make sure you look into the big appointments before hand to make sure they don’t have ridiculous wait times (like with getting your medical clearance (AF422) and TAP done). I know for me they almost couldn’t fit me into a TAP class within my time frame. Stuff like that you can do within the year and get it done and over with before you apply. They expect you to take TAP when you are within a year of getting out anyway. Also, speak with the gaining unit and see if there is anything they need before they will give you a signature because you will need that before they will give you the second endorsement which you will need for your final approval. Did you have to apply at your half way mark ?

@14rodane I was already past my half way mark when I was applying but I do believe you have to finish half of your current contract (3 years of 6 year contract or 2 years of 4 year contract) before you can start the process. I would double check but I’m pretty sure it’s the still the same! Hope this helps and good luck! (:

@@patricejones5510 If I remember correctly, it is from the time you get your official approval not the tentative. But I would verify with the ISR! Things may have changed since I went through this. I remember mine took a while but during that time is when I was able to get a head start on outprocessing. You can talk with someone at the MPF about what you can do to get started with everything or what is holding up the process.

@@patricejones5510 my gaining unit wasn’t able to do anything until my current unit did their processes and until I had the official approval as well. So I’m pretty sure that is normal. I already knew where I was going because I was staying in my same job so I’m not sure what your agreement is with your gaining unit on why you don’t have an “assigned” job.

Hey! I’m glad the video was helpful! If I remember correctly, you can start palace chase at the halfway mark of your contract. So if it was 6 year contract then 3 years into it and if it was 4 years, 2 years into it. BUT I would double check with the Florida ANG ISR for the AFSC that you are trying to go into. You can also speak to your current ISR at your base and see what they say. Reaching out to the Florida ANG ISR will help to start your process by putting your name on their radar. Sorry I just realized I didn’t answer the second part of that! My separation was the day before my reenlistment into the guard. I took 30 days of leave after I finished outprocessing my active duty base and then reported to my gaining unit so there was no laps in service.

Hello! You have to have a signature from your commander, the gaining unit commander, and then the ISR before you get the final approval. While you are waiting on these signatures it is a good idea to work on getting all your paperwork together and appointments scheduled because it can take awhile to get through your outprocessing. You only get 60 or 90 days AFTER the final approval to finish everything before they canx your request. If they canx your request then you have to wait a year to reapply to palace chase. (Some of the appointments like TAP and some medical can take up to weeks to get). I hope this makes sense and helps. PS: your ISR can submit for an extension so if you need it ask them about it (:

I do not think they will approve you if you do not meet the requirements. And if you apply and they do not approve it then you have to wait another year. BUT I do not know for sure and would suggest you ask the ISR on base just to be sure. I hope this helps (:

Hey! So you should be in contact with your new unit during the process. They have requirements for you before you can be gained to the unit. The ISR should direct you on what to do. What was the last thing you heard?? Do you know anyone at your new unit? You should have a sponsor you can reach out to

@@tumeliasmiles the last thing I heard was I should hear from someone 30 days after my DOS. I don’t know since I’m reserves if it’s different than the guard, but my ISR just told me to email the FSS at my new unit. I still don’t know anyone there 🥲. Thanks for the reply!

Since you don’t know anyone there you can also Google the ISR for the new base and they can probably get you in contact with the right people in the new unit (if you don’t know who to contact). Some ISR’s can be a little apathetic or unconcerned with others situations which can such when trying to get help or get things done. I’m sure everything will work itself out. Good luck! (:

Yes. If you apply to palace chase at your 3 year mark you should be qualified to still get all your benefits. I would verify with MPF or your ISR to be sure but as far as I know you should be good! (: Good luck!!

@@Kebinnugget from how I understand it, no. You have to choose one or the other. Skillbridge puts you into a job for your last 6 months and palace chase cuts your active contract to finish serving in a guard or reserve unit. So verify that with your career advisor or ISR who can also put you in contact with the career advisor. Also, if your ISR at your base is a dbag or too busy call a different one at another base! Make sure to get all your questions answered. (:

Hello there! Well if you applied for palace chase and they have a spot for you as a DSG then you would just go as DSG if you wanted that. But if at any point you don’t want to go that route or do not get the required endorsements then your palace chase would get cancelled and you would need to wait a year to apply again. What does DSG mean?

I am so sorry I didn’t see this till now! I hope you were able to figure out what a DSG is but if not it stands for Drill Status Gaurd. Which just means you work only on drill days. So part time instead of full time. Hope that helps!

So I was trying to go PJ at the rescue squadron. But figured out they don't have any slots. So I finally went into the same AFSC and following the 20th SF group at Alabama which is Army Guard for SF hopefully will get my BCT date next year to fort Benning. I'm going to go to the palace chase to DC. My status is I'm waiting on a response from AFPC for orders. So I can start out processing. My final out is Jan 09 I plan to complete by Dec 15 I wanna join my civilian job by Dec 15 in DC.

It's complex just because first, I go to the palace chase in order to get my civilian gig. Following, put in for blue to green. Will share with you the entire journey once I get it done. But I appreciate your info It helped me a lot. It's a hurry up and wait game. Makes you nervous as it's hard to deal with lots of floating time lines in front

@@tumeliasmiles I got my orders but still have concerns for me to take leave as I want to start my civilian job ASAP. So questions about the terminal leave I don't have more than 16 days and they aren't allowing me permissive TDY leave. But yes from my experience, 422 is a must! Also initial separation brief is now on Myfss that sucks but I did not have to do anything on it as I don't have flight time etc.

They ship everything back home for free. If you go to a different state then they will ship everything but only up to the cost of what it would be to go to your state of residency. So if there is a cost difference you would have to pay the rest. I hope this helps (:

From what I remember once you go into vMPF and apply that’s when your clock starts.
