Thanks for the information. Kindly, I’m asking you to know. Meanwhile, Lets say i did FRCR part 1 only, and I’m not ready for the other two parts of the exam, is it possible to do FRCR part 2A and part 2B letter and get time to prepare.

There is no age limit that u can’t apply for FRCR 2a ..there is minimum requirement of 24 months of training in radiology to appear for 2a and 36 months of training for 2b .. once u appear for part 1 and u have adequate training its better to start preparing for 2a as u will be up to date in ur subject ..if u delay more , the exam patterns can change and because of pandemic , eligibility and availing time slots can vary .. so early the better . Mam while applying for online exam booking for frcr part1 do RCR want overseas student to provide or submit papers of their current residency training Institution as a proof of their training. I heard in case of part1 frcr, RCR does not wants any paper of proof.But in case of 2A & 2B RCR will want that.

Hello doctor, For applying for PART 1 exam of FRCR, the oversea candidate should hold a training post in radiology but there is no minimum time period or experience is required to enter the exam. UK CANDIDATES must provide proof of their training. Hope this helps

Hi ..In your first year of training u can definitely give part 1 of FRCR. Plan ahead and so that you will finish giving FRCR part 2a by end of second year and clear it. You are eligible for FRCR Part 2b once you finish MD RADIOLOGY . Once you finish all three parts __ it’s way easier to shift to UK . You can get GMC REGISTERED AND EVEN GET CCT DONE IN THE LONG RUN. Hello sorry for the delayed reply first of all. The aspirant first FRCR SHOULD BE A RADIOLOGY RESIDENT AND should have completed minimum of 24 months of training. Although due to covid pandemic, the rules have been kind of relaxed as many might not be able complete . But WE should definitely prep ourselves to attempt this exam as the modules consists of two papers with everything in it.No separation of system based six modules as before . Hope this helps. Generally there is no hard and fast rule that you need to stay in UK FOR THESE MANY YEARS TO GET FELLOWSHIP. In NHS , while working as a radiologist , you get the opportunity to work in a particular system in UK LIKE MSK PEDIA ONCO.. based on these your CV CAN BECOME STRONG AND YOU CAN APPLY FOR FELLOWSHIP IN USA OR CANADA .. Canada fellowships are easier .. GIVE IT A TRY

HELLO DOCTOR MALIK , IELTS is not a prerequisite for giving FRCR PART 1, BUT IT IS A REQUIREMENT FOR WORKING IN UK .YOU CAN GIVE FRCR part 1 in your residency. There is no hard and fast rule that u should give after passing residency for giving PART 1. If you have prepared well, you can definitely attempt. As part 1 also as anatomy module , you should know radiological anatomy of all modalities as in CT ,MRI AND INTERVENTION IF THEY ASK. Hope this helps.

Hello again , MRCR ONLY MEANS Member of Royal college of Radiology.Its not a degree. FRCR IS A DEGREE OFFERED FOR FOR ALL SPECIALTY TRAINEES AND GRADUATES OF FORIEGN ORIGIN. In UK, There is GP REGISTRATION AND SPECIALITY TRAINEE REGISTRATION by which u can practice in UK. To be able to practice as a doctor, U HAVE MANY ROUTES TO TAKE- PLAB, ROYAL COLLEGE EXAMs. FRCR IS ONE SUCH EXAM. MRCP , MRCS STAND FOR PHYSICIANS AND SURGEONS. Hope This helps..

Hi dear doctor congratulations first for getting your degree - you cannot appear for FRCR DIRECTLY. Either you have write PLAB AND GET INTO GMC AND THEN APPLY FOR FRCR RESIDENCY IN UK OR YOU NEED TO GET INTO MD DNB DMRD RADIOLOGY ANF THEN YOU CAN APPLY. hope this helps

This degree is considered to be an additional valuable degree and u will be paid better in singapore HONGKONG MIDDLE EAST COUNTRIES, SCOTLAND AND UNITED KINGDOM

Yes dr Priyanshu. The information is wrong. RCR HAD DECIDED TO PLAN TO INTRODUCE IT IN INDIA , but they have not done it as Singapore is the nearest place for Indians to go and give the exam. MAY BE IN FUTURE, they might introduce. Will update if anything like that happens. EDIR EXAM HAS CENTRE IN INDIA

HI Thank you Dr Mahajan for the question. PREREQUISITE for FRCR2a is two years of radiology exposure before attempting the exam, After passing STEP 1 and COMPLETING MDRD YOU WOULD HAVE ALREADY COMPLETED 24 months of training so YOU are eligible to directly apply. There is no need for separate clinical experience. That means after passing FRCR part 1, you can attempt FRCR2a in your third year of MDRD PG PROGRAMME . Hope this helps

Approx 256 for physics ..256 Sterling pounds for anatomy modules. 343 GBP FOR PART 2a and 450 approx for part 2b ...total of about 1334 GBP for entire exam. But the extra cost like accommodation, travel ,stay and loss of pay if you are working in your country should be taken into consideration...This extra information is for foreign graduates. Scholarship is offered but it’s really difficult to get into FRCR by scholarship route..

Even after passing the exam, every person has a membership fee which is annual ..that is around 250 GBP AND THIS YEAR THE MEMBERSHIP FEE WAS REDUCED DUE TO PANDEMIC ISSUES

Hello doctor... if u r resident in first or second year of your residency , study Farr once and start studying McQ retrospectively in a detailed manner... If u have already completed your residency and know the basic knowledge of physics as you would have read some physics for your exam ,I would suggest u to study retrospectively from the beginning. One more query...in case we are working in a hosp/centre after md/dnb...bow much hours per day should we focus on for 4 months of physics and 1 month anatomy...and how many days leave needed before the exam for revision

Anatomy is very easy to revise and it’s comparatively very easy to pass the exam compared to physics unless u don’t do silly mistakes of not mentioning the side like right or left. I always suggest u study both the modules together . If your total time duration four months , I would suggest you to study 5 to six hours of physics on a daily basis and 1 hour of anatomy. Revise on weekends whatever you have assimilated during the week days. That should be sufficient. But it should be an uninterrupted six to seven hours of study ☀️thanks for asking

Hi Sreedevi ..sorry for the delayed reply . IF YOU ARE A GRADUATE like MBBS from India and getting FRCR is not Possible unless you write PLAB AND do GMC REGISTRATION.THEN FRCR WILL BE FIVE YEARS IN UK. I don’t think you will be coming back to India as u can apply for CCT AND GET A SPECIALIST POST IN UK. COMING TO YOUR QUESTION FRCR IS NOT RECOGNISED BY NMC. U can check it in NMC.org.in List for recognised degrees. To be able to do FRCR BEING IN INDIA, u have to have a basic radiology degree like DNB , DMRD OR MD FOR APPLYING FOR FRCR 2B

Hello doctor, First of all of you have completed MD , you are eligible for the exam for all three parts. Part 1 can be given by a resident also. For applying , go to the website and create an account like add you mail ID AND PASSWORD, and there is a section where u can apply. And pay your fees online. See the time schedules for application opening and closing. Anatomy is ballot so if u apply earlier it’s better. Hope this has helped. If u have any doubts please drop them again on the comments
