In this video I cut hair with scissors and use the trimmings to patch a hole in a buck's head.

I wish I was 30 years younger. You make these videos so interesting with the tips and tricks. It's almost like bringing the deer back to life. If I could get out and deer hunt and get a nice buck, I would like to try to mount it myself. We know you have plenty of mounts to do yet. Wish you would show more of them being done from start to finish. Love your channel and videos. Take care and be safe.

I’ve patched plenty bald spots with loose hair but never like that, found a new use for all my spare hide pieces! Didn’t know about fiber tac either I use super glue and it’s a pain cleaning it, 9 years in the trade and I’m still learning new things thanks for the tip!

I just started doing a little taxidermy in my free time. I just finished my first deer mount a few weeks ago. I just want to say thanks for all the useful information. Everything I did I learned on this channel. Please keep the videos coming

That’s awesome. I appreciate it this helped quite a bit. I used this method on a neck that had a broadhead entry hole. I can’t be mad though. I was the one who shot the deer and it taught me quite a bit. I wondered if this was even possible and I was contemplating it. I had saved some cut offs from a couple of mounts I’ve done, and I worked on your channel and I found a video very similar to what I was thinking about doing, it’s cool that someone is putting a channel out that can help fellow taxidermists

Great Info! I used some of my fiber-tac and the darker artificial velvet to fix some slippage spots on the face.

Can we use this for skin that is separated as well or what’s the best way to fix that my new taxidermy mount has a hole in it and not sure how to fix it
@thecedarridgechronicles4 ай бұрын
You can. You can also use flocking or wool roving

Looking for some help/advise a buddy of mine brought me an old deer mount to repair and clean up. Well I’ve done some apoxie work today. The hide/hair on this mount is yellow looking. I have taken some paper towels and windex and wiped this mount down 4-5 times. Still yellow looking. Do you have a paint schedule to fix this or any kind of recipe to remove the yellow looking tint. Thanks for any help you can provide.
@thecedarridgechronicles Жыл бұрын
The yellow is usually caused by hair losing pigment when a cape is mounted using dry preservatives. You can't get rid of the yellow, but you can airbrush it with a dark brown and it will look much better
