Your videos are very good. Can you suggest which area of Dublin to stay in that is close to DART and luas stations ( less than 10 min walk) . Would like to go to Howth and Greystone, and also visit Galway/ cliffs via bus. Planning a visit this year. I hope you are able to reply.

If you are going to be taking the Dart and the luas quite frequently during your visit then I suggest try and stay within the city centre probably Dublin 1 must be a convenient location to pick up any public transport.

I’m a little confused about using leap card on dart. If we have leap card do we not have to purchase tickets? Just scan the barrier on the way in and then on the way out?

You can pay either by buying tickets or by tapping the leap card. You can buy tickets from the ticket machine that are placed before the barrier gates in station. You can then use the tickets to swipe on the barrier gate to open it or you can use a leap card to tap on the barrier gate.

@@DeeptiKulkarni_ok but you do always need to purchase tickets for the dart? Not just tap leap on way in and then when you get off like the luas? I have leap card and want to know if I can just scan it when getting on and off. Or do I actually need to use the ticket machine?

Hiii when I first buy leap card in convenience store for 5€, do I need to top-up my card or there will be 5€ in the card?

You will have top up as the 5 euro is just for the card with zero balance. You can top up the card at the time of purchase with additional 5 euros in the conveniences store.

No there is no taping out concept in bus. If you tag on to the door sided validator machine, full fair amount will be deducted regardless of how much distance you travel.

You cannot pay with notes to use public buses. Public buses only accept coins or leap card. However you can buy tickets for the luas or dart from the ticket machine using coins,cash, debit, credit, leap cards, google pay or Apple Pay

if i buy a leap visitor card for 20 ish euros i don't remember exactly for 3 days, where is the limiit of kilometer i can travel? i can jump on any DART or bus and go anywhere? how does it work?

Leap cards are rechargeable cards to make contactless payments for all Dublin’s or Ireland’s public transport. They don’t limit you on kilometres basis. You can travel as far or as much as you want to if you have the balance in the cards . @@DeeptiKulkarni_ yeah but I understand that leap visitor card are different from leap card "normal" the last one are the one u said about but the visitor card ate bought for a price for a tot of days and are unlimited at least this is what the web say, but I really don't understand this unlimited?!

@@martina_iod Visitor cards are limited by time and not by distance. If you buy a three days visitor card (16 euro) regardless of how far or how much you travel you need not pay anything extra but it will get expired on the third day and you cannot use it any more nor can you recharge. Similarly with 1 day (8 euro) or 7 day (32 euro). The amount is fixed and so is the number of days that it is valid for.

Adult 3 Day, Adult 7 Day and Adult All Day Dart tickets are no longer available. Customers are advised to use a Leap Card instead. With a Leap Card Adult daily cap is €7.60.

How ever you can purchase monthly tickets and it could be used for both Dart and Luas. Would cost you 115 euro for adults and 57 for students. You cannot buy monthly tickets online and can only purchase them from ticket machines .

Hi. You cannot use your credit/debit card to pay for the bus or any public transport unless you use it to buy tickets. Yes, you can buy leap card visitor card with a weekly capping of 16 euro (72 hours) that will allow you to travel unlimited on buses, trams and train. If I want to go from the airport via route 16 or 41, can I buy tickets at the bus stop normally through a machine with a card and then i show ticket to driver ?And all bus stop have machine to buy ticket before to enter the bus ? Because i dont see from google maps that some bus stop dont have machines. And last question It is possible to find on internet how much cost ticket bus 16 and 41 from airport to city centre ?

Not all the bus stops have tickets machine and they are usually found at larger bus stations or at the airport. But you can buy your tickets directly from the driver with coins or leap cards. You must be able to buy leap card in the airport. You can also consider Dublin express bus that takes you to the city and you can easily buy its tickets online .

@@travelwiththetwins_kimi Yes, you can insert your debit card into a LUAS ticket/dart machine in Dublin. In fact, ticket machines accept a variety of payment methods including: Debit cards Credit cards Cash (coins ) Contactless payments (Google Pay, Apple Pay)

It’s super easy to get to trinity college from airport as it’s in the heart of the city. You can simply board private coach buses like Dublin express or air coach that you fine right outside Dublin airport terminal exit (7 to 12 euros). You can also take a taxi (aprox 30 euros). Buses will take only coins and not notes. For luas and dart you will have to buy tickets ahead in time by using the ticket machine. Ticket machines Accept cash

You cannot use apply pay to tap on the card validator machine. You can only use leap card to tap if not you can buy tickets from the ticket matching using Apple Pay
