Worked in my 2015 gti. Had a problem when coming to a stop from 3-2-1 and it was super like boggy and would jerk. Did this through my accessport and it feels much better now

Dsg is so quirky that sometimes you have to do this haha. I don’t have an accessport but it’s super simple with obd11. Good video explaining

Will this work the same as vcds? I have to replace my mechatronic unit and I’ll need to preform a relearn. Some say it can only be done with vcds.

I did this just now and wow wow wow..my cupra had a problem when in 7th gear and you floored it,it gave a heavy clunk when going to 5th gear.So much so that it was scary to floor it because i was waiting for that clunk.I had to downshift with the shifter paddles and my foot of the throttle.After the procedure(with a lot of noise from the gearbox/mechatronic/valves)i put it in D and it did nothing!!Luckily after the restart i was on my way and it is now a smooth as a baby buttocks...that saved me some $$$$$.

My 2020 s3 did the same exact thing. Down shifting from 7th to 5th would produce a big thump only in drive mode. I reset my transmission and it’s buttery smooth again. I have a stage 1 tcu tune and it did not affect it at all

Yo bro, Thank you for the video! I had a question, I have a new car with DQ200 7 Speed dry clutch DSG gbox. My problem is that it makes some clunk noise when downshifting from D2 to D1. Actually the whole case is that, I had sent my car to the service center for a checkup. All they did was install a new software update for the driver side window which wasn't working perfectly. Immediately after I leave the service center. I notice that the DSG shifting patterns have changed completely. The car used to rev match when downshifting from D2 to D1 which wasn't the case before and It would also hold the D1 gear till 2K rpms. Before it used to simply shift to D2 as soon as the car started to move. There are no jerks on upshifts or downshifts (except for the D2 to D1 there is a very mild jerk). Would this reset fix it? Else Ill be going back to the SC

I have a quick question. Can you say if obdeleven allows you to perform a language change? Example let's say i have an S3/A3 from Japan, can i use obeleven to change the language from Japanese to english? . Additionally can it change the region so as to get the navigation to work in my country?

If I’m not mistaken you can change languages with obdeleven but I’m not exactly sure how to go about doing so. That’s something I would have to look into or see if possible forums online show how

Must do if you switch tuners. Very common to have weird issues when switching

One of the biggest reasons to do a reset/relearn is due to switching tuners as the power bands are different on certain tunes etc

first off,. great channel with some great content! So I'm running an APR TCU tune and I preform a DSG relearn after a DSG service does it not effect the tune?

It will not effect the tune, what it does is that it reset the parameters of the slight learned behavior that it senses over time. Essentially if you feel your dsg isn’t as crisp as it once was or if it’s a bit more boggy and clunky than usual sometimes all it needs is a reset to fix the issue

You do, and my apologies for not mentioning that in the video but you do need the pro version to change many settings and do certain adaptations etc

Need to have the car running and follow the prompts from ob11. When you do the full clutch adaptation that’s when the car is running 100% of the time and you need to have a full firm press down of the brake as the car may try to lurch forward

Should you do a dsg reset if you’re going from stock to stage 1+ tune? Also should i bother with the tcu tune? Went with unitronic Also diego how do you feel with the new s3 8y getting like 140hp from just stage 1+ tune, im so jealous 😢

If you’re keeping the stock tcu tune then you should be ok. I highly do recommend though going with a tcu tune it changes the car completely and it’s safer for the clutches and trans etc. also I’m glad the new platform is making a lot of power! Every generation should be an improvement over the next you know?

The main reset value has to have car on and foot on brake. The others like resetting clutches etc could be engine off

Anyone know if the reset could fix hard 1st and 2nd gear shifts in 2018 a3. Car only shifts funky in auto not in manual mode. New to the Audi scene. Using obd11 haven’t bought the pass yet to use the reset function.

Have seen multiple people in drive and sport with weird shift patterns do the reset and it fixes the issues. Also do you know when the last time you had a dsg service? Could also be some worn fluid

@@DArias I have no clue assuming didn’t have the service. I have the fluid regardless watched your video on how to do it too, just very cold weather here and snow so waiting for it to warm up. Car has 32k miles appears previous owner did minimum service on it. So I did new coils, spark plugs, oil change, filter, and full brake service on the front.

May be a good idea to do both a dsg and Haldex service is can work some wonders man! They’re due at 40k miles typically but if the previous owner didn’t do a great job on service etc could be a good idea. Doing the reset is a good way to also rule out issues as these dsg can adapt to certain driving habits you know? I recently did a dsg service on mine with a reset myself and WOW the difference was massive. Much smoother engagement from start and stop and shifting feels quicker too

Question: this will help with digs also? I have a 2018 s3 stage 1 tuned. After the tune my wheels are starting to spin on a dig (Using continental tires from dealer tho. Tread is fine also) I was thinking I may just need to get better tires to handle the power from a start or I may need to do a DSG reset? Any answers will help. This is my first euro car with tune

The DSG relearn will not do anything from having more power and spinning.. Who are you tuned with? A good DSG tune will help because they will change the launch RPM to help with spinning from the increased power.. I have a stage 2 EQT 93 tune with a DSG tune running PS4S tires and I hardly spin now on my launch.

@lkaiilan2807 I was on stock tires for a while but when I switched to the PS4S tires all my spinning went away, also EQT did a DSG tune update not to long ago that lowered the Launch RPM to 3700 and it is perfect

Shadow is right, it could just be a tire situation where you need better tires or at the same time not sure the last time you did a Haldex service but that can help too if it hasn’t been done

I read you can do the same by turning on the ignition (not starting the engine) and than keep the gas pedal press for 20 seconds. It should also reset your dsg. Have you tried that?
