I can find shop or projection all I have is instant audio phone and pandora. How can I get more apps. I really want to use Apple car play. I have a 2014 Chevy 1500 LT. do all models have crappy features?

Is there a way to flash the console to put in another user interface? OnStar is less useful than the apps i have on my phone. I would like to add my own GPS. Also my screen does not have the shop icon. How do I get it?

What year, make, model do you have? The shop icon was added on the 2017's and up. As far as a different user face the only option I know of is the Apple Car Play/Android Auto interface that will allow you to project your maps etc onto the vehicle screen. 2019 Chevy Traverse. Any way to turn off the tone for when the WiFi is established and my phone connects via Bluetooth? I don’t need a ring tone every single time it connects. Wish you could mute that or turn it off in settings.

I messaged GM tech support and got this message back..."You can disable the WIFI through the MyChevrolet or MyGMC app and this will eliminate the tone. It worked in the two vehicles we tested it in". Let me know if this works for you. Thanks!

I'm looking at the 2019 Traverse. Is there a way to change the way the apps look? Black and white or less colorful?

Great question! I did some research and from what I can tell there is not a setting that allows you to change it to B&W or grayscale. The only option would be to dim the display itself down to the lowest light output but that only takes effect while driving at night. I would look into tinted screen protectors. I imagine there are some precut tinted screen protectors that you can apply to dim the display a little. Curious what you end up doing for this. Love to hear back from you on what you do/decide. Thanks!

The Chevy Weather App can be found in the shop app. As far as GPS goes there is a built-in Navigation option in some vehicles and others may have a monthly subscription-based Onstar Navigation. What year, make, model do you have?

Unfortunately the shop app was added in 2017. The truck in the video is a 2018.

I just got a 2017 Equinox. I was told it had Chevy My Link and it appears to when the car starts up but it then goes to a bunch of Sirus XM related icons. That is problem #1. The bigggest issue I am having is that I already have an app on my phone for my subscription. It will not work in the car because the sirus in the radio is grabbing the blue tooth and blocking it. In order to use my phone app I have connect via auxiliary plug which disconnects my phone from the blue tooth connection so I can't make or receive calls hands free. Sirius says I have to buy an activation for the car when I bought the activation on my phone so I could move between vehicles. I can't find a Chevy My Link setting anywhere in this thing. I've had it a day and I want to return it. Help

Hey Joan have you figured out a solution for this? When you start your car you should see 8 icons on the home screen. Something along the lines of (Now Playing, Phone, AM, FM, XM, USB, AUX, TONE). I am not 100% sure how the Xm radio app works so I cannot help much there.

You should've called Sirius Xm and had them reconfigure frequency and combine package the free months plus your subscription.

2017 Chevy Colorado...my software details: GMG3G_LINUX_16.2B018.3 i cant connect the wifi for update my software. i click on software update but it doesnt show anythng next. i tried to connect the radio with wifi but it doesnt show anything next either. on display i can see only icons for "AUDIO, PHONE, PROJECTION, TEXT and SETTINGS'. no navigation and shop icon showed. Please help me about this. how i can update and can use more features. can USB help about this to update the software? thanks a lot

Pandora is no longer an app on the screen due to Android Auto and Apple Car Play and the ability to play Pandora on those interfaces. If you are not familiar with either or we made a video on what they are and how they operate. Just go on our channel under playlists and look for the tutorial list and search for it there

Also, the SHOP app on the 2019's is now called "APPS" and if you do not see it on your home screen swipe to the left to get to the second page and it should be there along with a few other icons. You must have the 7" mylink. There is an optional 8" mylink offered on LT models and up that will give you the app like icons as shown in this video. Great question!

It also makes a difference when using Android Auto as opposed to using i-phone's Apple CarPlay.

Is there a way to keep the last screen used when restarting the car? Example: I have the audio screen on. I shut off the truck and next time I start it, the screen is back to the “home” screen. I want to keep it on audio. OR is there a way to choose the default home screen?

What vehicle do you have (year, make, model) I just jumped in a 2018 Silverado to test this for you and put it on the radio screen, turned truck off, opened the door, shut the door, restarted the truck and it was still on the radio screen. I did the same for phone and navigation and they stayed on as well. As far as I know, there is not a default home screen option but I will double check. Great question!

Carter Chevrolet I have a 2017 Sierra. It does this on any screen I have on. When I start the truck it always goes back to the home screen (the one with the icons in two rows). Drives me nuts.

We have a used 2017 GMC Sierra SLT here on the lot so I ran out there and tested it and got the same results as our 2018 Silverado. As far as I know, it should stay on the last screen you left it on. I checked the settings and could not find any way to add a default home screen either. I will look further into this though since that is very interesting. Thanks!

Carter Chevrolet thanks for testing it on another vehicle. It is strange. I have had the truck for a while now and it has done this from day 1. A single day it stayed on the last screen I had on (almost always audio) but it hasn’t done it again since. I was also unable to find a setting for it and I have been scouring the web looking for a fix. Since most people aren’t having this issue, it makes sense as to why I couldn’t find anything. In fact, that is how I found this video. If you are able to find a fix, I would be grateful.

Checked another GMC Sierra we got in and could not replicate your issue on this one either. Wish there was something I could find out for you on this but not having any luck. If I find a fix I will let you know though. Thanks for watching the video and have a great day!

What year, make, model do you have? Older models had a feature called "Picture and Movie" and you were able to display pictures and movies whenever the vehicle is safely stopped and shifted into PARK. As far as saving a photo to the home screen there is not a way to do so and the "Picture and Movie" option is no longer available in the new cars.

Not sure what vehicle you have but for example, if you have a 2016 Silverado you cannot add it to the home screen since it is now built into Android Auto and Apple Car Play. If you have a 2015 Silverado like Mario Jr mentioned it should be in the shop app

I have an issue that maybe you could help me with. I've been all over the internet and a few GM dealerships and they are not very knowledgeable on the mylink stereo. I have a 2015 Chevy Tahoe ltz and I do not have the shop button or Pandora or weather button. I'm trying to figure out how to get them? If I could get the shop button I'm sure that I could download the other apps. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know that I have the mylink 6 system or whatever they call it I can't remember. But I do remember the 6.... I have each and every single option except for the power running boards.
