If you are not able yet to pick up the shuttle with your racket this is defintly something you should try to learn. Not just because it looks professional and is more relaxed but it will give you a better handling of the racket.

I always use the first method… the second method will damage the feather not recommended unless your shuttlecock is FREE 😆

Would like to know if there's a technique to receive the shuttle with the racquet as well, not bouncing it off the strings and catch it but the turning motion and the shuttle stays on the racquet style. I managed to got 2 off the ground but its hard work haha

Need to learn how to follow through with the shuttle, also catch it, with the shuttle leaning sideway with the racket,. If you catch it with the cork hitting first, it will surely bounce off..

For the more advanced way of picking up the shuttle, wouldn’t that scrape the rim of your racket?

Only if you hit the floor, but if you only hit the feathers nothing will happen to the racket

I dont like any movement that hurts my racket/strings ,ur racket also made with contact the floor , all floors/courts are not that well maintained. Try not to touch the court. + i am an indian greeting my court respects by bending n touching it gives me solace. I learnt the trick though.

My 2 cents worth. (1) once you master the scooping shuttle, try not to scrap your racket frame against the ground. This guy is still scraping it. (2) don't try method 2, this guy literally hit his racket against the ground and damage the feather at the same time.
