It is definitely a "lifesaver" if you have spilt epoxy resin and want to remove it without smearing it. It can then be reapplied where it is needed. I am very grateful for this video and will build a miniature version of this device!

I think this device makes use of the no-slip condition -- the fact that a fluid maintains zero velocity relative to a solid surface. That's why it works for true fluids but not for solid particles.

Is this like when I have a glass of water with ice or a piece of fruit in and I twist the glass everything will stay in the same place?

It acutally should work best with non-newtonian fluids called bingham fluids that need a certain shear force to behave like fluids. This means they have a bigger zone with non-slip condition. Ketchup is one of those bingham fluids. :)
@BitterTast3
@BitterTast3 8 ай бұрын
@@IRmortalwombatNo that’s nothing but slip, or frictionless. Relative to the solid (the cup or container) it moves at the same speed as the solid, just in the opposite direction. It just doesn’t move relative to anything else.

picking up paints feels like a potential use for this. If a painter wants to save their paints by placing them in a sealable container or something from their palette this might be useful

Such a shame that Kamikoto has never been made by a Japanese knives maker nor has any history as such (many quoted as a Chinese company in expert groups). I highly doubt you can name any Michelin star chef or any pro chef using Kamikoto or endorsing it. I couldn't find any trace. I am open to find out I am wrong - if you can provide their name and endorsement of the product. Damaging to the Japanese knives reputation. "Machine made knives from 2nd grade steel". But surely they have heavily invested in PR on KZfaq. Your video was amazing as usual thou.

I work in a kitchen where we sometimes do some pretty intricate stuff. This concept might come in handy one day! Side note: A metal plaque (brand name/ser. no.) fell off of a warmer we use in concessions about 18 months ago. I couldn't find any glue, so I used a fine layer of ketchup to re-stick it. The continuous heat basically vulcanized it into glue and that thing is STUCK FOREVER.

I think it may be a particle size issue. Larger particles are dominated by gravitation, but smaller particles are dominated by electrostatic forces. Like how the flour kinda worked, but the other solids didn't. That's why there's little adhesion and cohesion to get the material to stick to your sloped surface.

I’ve been keeping an ironic pile of Diablo sauce on the kitchen floor that splattered into the shape of Christ. Can I finally transfer this to my burrito

Dude, i think you had it. What went wrong with placing the sauce back down was just which hand of yours you moved. When picking up the sauce, your hand on top remained stationary and only your bottom hand moved. But when you placed the sauce down, your top hand moved when only your bottom hand should have moved again. Great video. Really love your content
