I'm in PT school, what program do you use that shows the muscles during movement? It looks super helpful

Can also do a spider stretch where you put one leg in front of you turned inward on the ground, stretches the outside part of the hip which helps to keep your opposite leg from going down, can choose to not go as low cuz even in a normal squat that depth has no real benefit, also weightlifting shoes which elevates the heel and don't need as much ankle mobility

Having tightness in the IT band on the exterior part of the lower thigh, also around the knee doing pistol squats is a strange phenomena that I started getting while progressing the pistol.

Would love to do those but my knee would blow up if i press my hamstring to my calf like that 🤔

I would say start off doing ATG bilateral squats on a slant board. Then advance to HIGH box step ups, where you can only use the front leg. Then try pistol squats. But that’s not how most CF boxes work. Most people need to strengthen their quads through that extreme range of motion, thigh completely covering calf, before they even try a pistol squat, which requires all the strength PLUS the balance. Going from a standard high bar squat to a pistol squat is too big a leap for most.

Lol. I'm learning this from home. I don't have slant boards and all that gibberish. All I know is that I can almost do it, and I can definitely squat down with my knees over my toes and get back up. I just need the extra know how. ..

It's also a bad idea to hold your leg during the squat instead of just strengthening your hip flexors. Your form will always be compromised like this

If I struggle to hold my other leg high enough to not touch the ground, in what muscle or tendon do I lack flexibility?

Hamstrings or perhaps you need to strengthen your glutes and hip flexors. Im not sure I might be wrong.

Just try or prctice daily, if its about hamstrings issue, why the other legs can do well..

I’ve been doing 2/3 times a week if not more, for the last 2 months and haven’t seem any results, I don’t know why, i’ve seen so many of his videos about this topic

Is just static stretches for hamstrings the way to go? I’ve recently seen a lot of people say that you need to train the antagonists in full ROM and this will unlock the hammies. Any truth to that?

How high should i go on elevated pistols before progressing to sweeping my leg forward? Then, how should i progress and track progress from there until i can do a full pistol? Ty

I work on plates and I can't get past the point where my knee bends close to 90 degrees. I can't go any deeper and come back up without pushing off with my foot.. any suggestions to build strength at the bottom?

Man I saw myself in that woman doing her p squats. My left leg is TRASH, in pretty much all aspects including but not limited to ankle mobility. Tho i think lack of strength and severe lack of balance are much bigger issues

I recently switched to a minimalist shoe and injured my ankle running. Now anytime I lean forward I get a lightning bolt through the front of my ankle. It’s been months and it has not gone away. Are used to be able to sit Asta grass on both heels and now I have to step forward with my right foot to avoid pain. Well this ankle mobility stretch with the plate and the band help me?

I'm guessing it's joint pinching or nerve damage. Get to a physician first my man. Mobility training might not do you well if you don't exactly know what's wrong with your ankle

yeah as long as it's unloaded like a bodyweight version. i elevate myself on a box and wear some squat shoes and do them with weight that way i can have my other leg act as if it's also squatting when its just floating beside me
