Hey. I'm Italian. Totally agree: February. Quite cold in the mountains, but - you know - it's not the Arctic; and in the South you might find some unexpected good climate (therefore arrange your clothing options). Fewer tourists. Yes, again, never go eat in "touristy" places, never. If you happen to sit two or three evenings in a row in the same family-runned restaurant, you might be perceived as a regular guest, and this is good. What else? Yes, unless you have lashings of time, it is better to restrict your visit mostly to a single region; and, remember, small places and towns, even villages, in Italy, can offer the best experiences. Any travel guide will tell you that. Welcome in Italy!

Thank you, Anastasiya! I have been planning a fourteen night trip to Italy in September. This video is very helpful as are your other videos. I would not have thought about purchasing a sim card from an Italian wireless service. As you say, it is very tempting to try to visit as many locations as possible. I have booked airbnb's at Rome, Sorrento, the Tuscan countryside, Florence, and Venice. I am somewhat concerned that is too much. But, I can't think of anything I would leave out so I think we will stay with the plan. I will look for your Rome tours on airbnb.

Great tips. I need any and all advice. I am planning a 10-day vacation to Italy in October, 2022. My goal is to spend 2 days in Venice, 2 days in Bologne, 2 days in Rome and 2 days in Naples Amalfi Coast. Of course rest in between. Is this drafted itinerary realistic? Both September and October are wonderful months for Italy, but it does get very crowded and expensive during that time of the year. I would definitely consider February. May is another excellent option. You honestly cannot go wrong and it will all depend on your budget, things you want to do and see. Have the most beautiful trip!

Also, since you are coming at the beginning of November, there is a big chance you will be fine. But even if it does rain, I know you will have the most amazing time!

Good for you!! I'm also traveling to Italy for the first time and SOLO too! I'll be going at the end of Sept to early Oct with a solo travel tour group. We'll start in Venice, then head to Florence and then Rome. But I really wanna see the Amalfi Coast so I've even extended my trip 2 extra days (in which I'll be on my own) but I've traveled to Europe a few times so I'm comfortable moving around on my own. I've extended my trip 2 extra days as I've even booked a stay overnight on the Amalfi Coast in Positano 😁 I could have done a day trip but I want to spend more than just 2hrs exploring Positano. 🙂

I literally just planned/booked/purchased everything I need for a trip to Italy two days ago and THEN your video comes out.😂 These tips will still be very useful, and I found your other videos useful as I planned as well. I'm so glad you're talking about how to get around. I'm very nervous about using the different trains.

Love your channel! We are heading to Rome in mid-August, for 2 1/2 days. I know not ideal but do to budget and flights it's what worked. I have read that it's best to go to the Colosseum and Vatican early. I know you mentioned the large indoor mall, is there anything thing else you could suggest to avoid the heat. Many thanks.

Right. With global warming February has got a sort of Spring month in Italy. It is rarely rainy as well; actually first weeks of Spring are the rainy periods in these last few years.

Hi Angela! Thank you🙏 In my opinion, Airbnb is the best platform for experiences. My experiences are also on Viator and Eatwith, but to be honest, so far Airbnb is leading big time. Everything from customer service to payout process is just so much better.

Michelle, it all depends when in August. The middle is the worst part, to be honest. If you are coming at the beginning or especially the end, most places will be open. I would look ahead of time to see what sites, tours, etc are open and make a reservation.

We just booked our flights for late October, and then I watched this and you’re saying this month is perfect. 🤣😂🥰 It’ll be gorgeous and just fine I’m sure. Thanks for the tips! SIM card info: thanks!! Avoid eating at main tourist sites! Gotcha! Needed that! I’ve been to Italy and lived in Barcelona and that is the best advice. The food isn’t good at all at tourist traps. 🙏🙏🇮🇹🥰🤗

Hello Anastasia, thanks for the video. Im flexible with date/month to travel. I love you suggested Feb because my husband hated the crowd and the heat. He is thrilled that you suggested Feb but Im afraid that it would be too cold because Im afraid of the cold. Would March be still a good month in terms of budget, weather and crowded problem? Would I be able to save a lot coming to Italy in Feb? Thanks

Hi Anastasia, great videos and content, you are super fun to watch, we are planning our trip to Italia and Greece in AUGUST!!! :( unfortunately, that is the date the Cruise to the Greek islands departs from Civitavecchia, so we have no choice but to be in Rome, Venice and Florence in AUGUST. That being said, what is your advice to enjoy our time the most? we are a family of 4 including 2 teens. One more question is it best to travel on our own? or let an agency coordinate the trip for us?

Hi Monica! Yes, I completely understand. Truly hoping it's not the middle of August. To enjoy your time the most, I would make sure to split your time between seeing sites but also just relaxing and enjoying a place like a local. If you organize your own vacation, I would recommend to book some Airbnb experiences. Also, I would look into doing a day trip to the beach. For example, Sperlonga is an amazing option. As far as coordinating on your own or through the agency, it depends on your budget, preferences, etc. It might be a great idea for someone at least to create an itinerary for you.

This has been the most helpful video I've come across... I'm going crazy picking where to visit in Italy and I definitely want to go to Southern Italy. I want to see the beautiful beaches and experience the city life as well as the night life. So i think Naples, Capri, Amalfi coast or Tropea, Sicily and Palermo. I'm going in July any thoughts ?
