Are goldfish (( common )) a good variety for beginners to get started with I have read that in numerous places. What a time to be alive so much information from guys like you putting in that work for the bank of knowledge that is the internet! Thank You sir you are appreciated 👍

For sure, they produce a lot of waste (your fertilizer) and are hard to kill.

I know loads of folks that just run them or Koi MW. Koi would probably give you a much better return that table fish if you're looking at doing it commercially.

Have only just started doing aquaponics 6 months ago after 4 months almost gave up with advice I was getting here in Perth They just wanted to sell me expensive stuff with no logical advice Then I discovered your youtube channel I'm a landscaper from years ago and I have always had fish and growing my own veg was having these ideas And getting told Na you gotta spend more money And lo and behold watching you it's all as simple as you say and we're trying to keep it cheap Awesome thank you And I'm charging forward again As I want to get this down pat for our retirement in a few years Please keep the vids coming 😊

Glad you came out with this video I was wondering why my leave were going yellow I've had my fish and water cycling 2 months now and my lettuce is turning yellow thanks for telling us about the kale and the other fish product you don't have to reply I know you're busy just thanks again

It's not commonly found here on OZ but I've seen it recommended for shampoos & other liquid soaps. 👍

I have done so previously but the fish we use would spit them out. There's videos of that somewhere in the back catalogue from memory. 🤔 Other species will feed on them with no issues.

Mr. RB, I am in process of starting the hydroponics gardening. I am not sure about adding the fish to the tank this season. Can I use the products mentioned in the video as a fertilizer to keep the plants alive and fed once I have the build complete. Possibly you can link the proper video in your list if you don't use the fish.

Youi can use the fish emulsion & a few will even use their own aged urine (as long as they're not on an medicines) to provide nutrients for the plants. I don't really have a video on alternate fertiliser options but did post one last weekend looking at nutrient banking in aquaponics for folks in between fish or those that have just cycled their systems. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/n9CIac91mbLcc2g.html Hope that helps a bit.

Whats the difference between the seaweed additive and the charlie carp in terms of functionality and when you would use it.

The Charley Carp has a relatively high nitrogen level where the seaweed/kelp has next to none.

Hi @Bob my system did very well with only tomatoes,but other plants keeps turning yellow what should I do to make them grow healthy??

Yellow leaves are generally either a nitrogen, iron or magnesium deficiency in most aquaponics systems. What level is your nitrate sitting at? Is the yellowing is on new leaves it's generally iron. If it's on older leaves it's magnesium. Hope that helps some.

Olá Marcos. O líquido marrom usado para circular o sistema aquapônico era um fertilizante de emulsão de peixe. (Google Translate) The brown liquid used to cycle the aquaponics system was a fish emulsion fertilizer.

hi i dont do aquaponics.. but listen to what you grow .. live in northern nsw.. but having a huge problem with the fruit fly attacking my tomatoes and capcicum plants.. which i have just pulled out... as all the fruit was attacked... can you offer any help or how to get rid of them... please.

I use exclusion bags mainly Christina. I tried lures & baits but a few always found their way to the fruit. You can buy purpose made bags, paint strainer bags or make your own with small sections of shade cloth if that helps.

The plant side of aquaponics is essentially hydroponics. Most folks will also add a few extra elements that the fish feed doesn't provide but nitrogen based additives aren't required.
