You know what, you go on to youtube to find out how to do this kind of thing as in other DIY...but out of them all i.e electrical, plumbing, joinery this has got to be the best tutorial video of them all. the guy is a MASTER at what he does with is easy instructions and his patience 1st class and top-notch. WELL DONE.

Used these videos for my first ever attempt at plastering a ceiling - followed them exactly step by step and produced a finish I am proud off! I've watched several videos before this, and this is the best by far! Thanks very much Guys - was a lot of fun watching the videos and doing the job.

Just great to watch a master at work. I had a plasterer that used to go over the first coat with a wood float to flatten off before the second coat was applied. A good series of instruction videoes.

Thank you no wonder I'm a lousy plasterer lol Lots of things i forge to do which is why i employ the good guys when I have walls and ceilings to coat. Really good work .well done. My only comment is how much time do you leave between coats or is it one action straight after the other?

I have done a few DIY plastering jobs now, but it never gets a decent finish :( my problem is rushing thinking the plaster will be going off soon, if it took longer to set I think I would be able to do a much better job.

how much time do you leave in between each trowelling up after the second coat?? great video
@TommysYardchannel9 жыл бұрын
Jamie Treharne The time between each troweling up is weather dependent really and depends on the ventilation of the room. I.e if its a hot day it will be quicker then a cold day.Once the plaster is touch dry you should be able to leave a finger print on the wall and that should allow you to gauge it properly as there is no exact time. Hope this helps please comment for any more questions.

To slow Tommy,and most of the plasterers use the angle trowell not a brush for corners.Anyway nice finish at the end.
@TommysYardchannel8 жыл бұрын
+marcellonraco Thanks for the comment, Brad slowed everything down for the sake of the how to. His a little out of touch and doesnt do commercial site work anymore either. Thanks for watching

why is the plaster brown in europe? in the usa diamond plaster is white. does that brown plaster also have retarder in it or do you add that separately?
@elsewho7 жыл бұрын
king persia it's all gypsum, but the rock can be different colours. We also get white over here at times
@djkingpersia7 жыл бұрын
Bob thank you sir for answering the question I was just wondering if there's some kind of ingredient that makes one of the two better now I understand they're all the same stuff
@elsewho7 жыл бұрын
king persia for Skim coat just add water no extra ingredients required. For external plaster, sand and cement you add a water proofer a plasticiser which helps the workability of the plaster. ,
