How to Plasti Dip Emblems with Glossifier PROPERLY!

People have a love hate relationship with Plasti Dip, many say it looks crappy and cheap. And I'd have to agree because I have seen many applications that were crappy and textured. But when installed correctly, especially paired with Glossifier, it is a great product especially for the price. I applied it to my Mustang emblems and It definitely transformed the look of the car without making it look cheap at all, even up close!

Great video man, I just did mine after watching it. I do have a tip for those who want to do the pony in the front and it makes it a LOT easier- tape over the emblem instead of trying to cut the tape to it in the groves, then use a very small (1/2" wide, thin) trim panel removal tool- you can use it to trim the tape on the outlined Pony because there is a small gap between the emblem and the emblem "holder" on the grill. With that method I was able to trim out the pony perfectly in about 10-15 minutes, and that gap also helped ensure the release of the dip correctly.

you should paint the red dot of the 5.0 in white / color match your car, it would give you that small detail that is different from others

The black accent package is worth the money. A black roof on the Oxford white looks good.

It’s definitely worth it, it’s just finding it on the lot with the other packages I want. I suppose you could customer order it. They didn’t have any 2020 PP1s with Black Accent and Active Exhaust over here. So I’m resorting to this, but the result still looks great.

I did 3 coats flat black and 2 heave coats glossifier. Heat gun cuts your dry time by 2/3 easy fyi. My Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude badges finally match the black trim. Easy, cheap and fixable if you screw up.

great tutorial (where you can actually see something - hard to see black on black without some lighting and good close up camera shots) not sure about the glossifier, think it had nicer smoother texture without it so I'll probably just keep them matte

I used Carpro Eraser which is designed to remove polish residue before applying ceramic coating. But any good wipe with a microfiber towel will be good.

The Open Road I did, I especially like the way the SS 1LE looks and sounds, but the 2018 models were a bit more than the mustang and they were also harder to come by.

How long did you wait between coats?

About 30 minutes. Just depends on the temperature and humidity of where you are. It was raining that day, my rear emblem did not dry as fast as the front emblem because it was close to the garage door which had cool air coming through. I used a heat gun to speed up the process.

Plasti dip glossy is available in Australia, saves the dicking around with glossifier.

How long is the wait time between the glossifer layers?

canoeshoe depends on the environment you’re in, the colder the longer. I would suggest at least 30-45 minutes just to be safe. And I actually used a heat gun on the emblems (low heat and did not keep the gun on one spot) to make sure it dried throughly.
