The Bronze Mutha guitar slide is unfortunately out-of-stock. I'm having quality issues with them and would rather not disappoint anyone, so I've removed them from the store. Sorry 'bout dat...

Thanks for all the lessons Shane, greatly appreciated here in the emerald Isle, 🇮🇪 Ireland. My biker buddy Gus & I are aspiring cbg disciples, still at an early stage yet but enjoying it. Built about 10 cbg's now & trying some ideas likes well as volume & tone controls, I've added a 6 position rotary switch with different value capacitors which really extends the tonal range.

Me, deep in my man-cave: Guitar pick? Check. Slide? Check. Skully t-shirt? Check. Hmm, something's missing. The voice of Shane Speal resonates: "What you're gonna need is a 3-string slide cigar box guitar." Darnit!!!

Yep, very similar. That's why lessons like this are foundational... they allow you to morph these riffs into different songs!

Hi Shane, just found your channel while searching specifically for CBG tips. I just got my first CBG a couple of weeks ago, had a local guy make one for me after meeting him at our local county fair. This will be a great one to practice, get the strumming down, use the slide and try to expand what I can play like you were at the end of this video. You commented at the beginning of the video about making your own CBG. Is that something someone can realistically do if they have never built a guitar before? I'm not sure of the equipment required and also the skill level needed. Thanks again, happy 4th, hope you have a safe, fun holiday! Marc

Shane, as always, you create killer content, and it's a major reason I first got into cigar box guitars at all. Quick question from a total beginner, though- is it possible to play "Old Dun Cow" on a four string (or three string) CBG? I figure if anyone would know, it would be you, so if you see this and have time, let me know. Thanks again for all the great stuff!

Hey Shane, I got a question/idea, you mentioned something wanting people to make songs… would you consider doing a companion series on writing/arraigning songs… I think I’d be cool if you Helped us take this simple riff and build our own song from it. Until you mentioned it I never ever considered the idea of writing songs… even though I’m a writer, and have even written poetry. But to craft a song?!?!
@ShaneSpeal2 жыл бұрын
It's in the works!!! But until then, take this one piece of advice: My #1 tool for lyric writing is using www.RhymeZone.com. (It's a total cheat!)
