Love these. Working through what I can, but mostly, it’s just great seeing and hearing the breakdown and then the demo. So good.

Hi Arthur, I just wanted to say a huge thanks for all your work and lessons. I've been learning blues piano since COVID hit and it has given me a great mental release from the day to day. I started your lessons about 10 weeks ago and have been working through your Boogie Woogie book and hands down its the best way to learn I have come across on the internet and has massively improved my blues playing. Love the book and you no nonsense lessons. Keep up the good work and if you are ever tour in Ireland I will be in the front row!!! Keep that bluesy goodness coming!!!!

This couldn't have come at a better time, I'm just starting out on the Pinetop piece in your Boogie Woogie book and had no idea how to do the tremolo. If you've got any advice on playing the five-note chords in the Katie Webster piece I'd appreciate it!

Thanks! I don't know off hand but if it's a 5 note chord in the right hand then the bottom two notes (if they are white keys) are played both with the thumb (spread over the 2 keys)

Do both hands have to play the bottom note and the top note together? My right hand can go faster than my left so if they have to have the same timing on the bottom note and the top note, should I just go really slow to start?
@thearthurmigliazza
@thearthurmigliazza Жыл бұрын
Yeah just go slow to start and build up speed in your left hand so that it can keep up with your right ;-) But the hands never play at the same time. They must fit together in an alternating fashion, equally spaced.

Tremolo is raising and lowering volume. This is a trill, no?
@thearthurmigliazza
@thearthurmigliazza 2 жыл бұрын
Maybe you're thinking of a guitar amp knob? In piano a trill is rapid alternation of adjacent notes. Tremelo is rapid alternation of notes further than a whole step.
