Thank you for giving SOBH some love. This game has provided me more bang for the buck than any other game I own :-) Revised and Advanced are two different rule sets. Advanced has everything that revised has but has added weapon/shield variations such as block, Parry etc. Advanced has also added the reaction type actions when the active player rolls under his activation number.

Which version do you recommend? the Revised Original or the advanced?

@@giohesse4216 we played the original for months, its excelent and simple. Everything it has to offer is in advanced and expanded, but it doesnt really change the core... so i would test the waters with the original.

If you like Song of Blades and Heroes you might want to check out DeepWars by Antimatter games. Their rule set is based off the Song of Blades and Heroes. What makes DeepWars so interesting is that you are actually fighting underwater and there are rules for pressure and depth. So if you surface too fast you might get the bends and die.

I'm definitely familiar with it (and I have more than one game based on Song of Blades) but I haven't yet picked this up. I did think it was a novel concept.

i read it and the manual mentions the headbutt trait but the description and its effect is nowhere to be found :/

Advanced is newer than revised. Revised is just the updated rules of the original SoBH
