The format for your tutorials is the best it doesn’t require a lot of backtracking ! This is probably my favorite smiths song to play a lot of cool variations with just 4 chords.

ZsXLuluberlu Ah thanks so much. I’ve changed them a lot over the years. Taken on board everyone’s feedback. Hope they continue to improve. Ideally I want people to press play and not have to touch the computer again. Like a real lesson. 👌🏻 And yeah, mad textures going on.

By far this is the most detailed account of Johnny's riffs on this tune on you tube. I would be curious how the layers happened and such a simple 4 cord trick too but definitely makes sense the way you explained it. He was only in his early 20's coming up with this stuff....quality! He went on tour with the Pretenders after they split and it was pleasing to see how well he played "Back on the chain gang" (amoung the rest) would appreciate it if you could show that Riff? sounds easy but there is some kind of trick right on the start of the lick with the pleck. Thanks in advance and keep up the great work.

This is tremendous! Thank you! Best tutorial for this song available, and well explained. Your time and work is very much appreciated. Would you be able to do a tutorial on The Smith’s “There is a Light”, but in particular, the arpeggiated ending/outtro which is beautiful and difficult to replicate. Johnny Marr would be proud! Thanks again for your instruction!

Sped Spedding love your lessons* you know what I mean. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g72Zqbt9vcvdfH0.html Bit of a specific request but 34 secs to 1.07 in the link is something I would love to be able to play. But I can’t get my head around it. Would love a bigger overall there is a light lesson which incorporates that little section. Ok that’s it from me. Thanks again for the great lessons!

Think about the clean work Page has done. Ten Years Gone, The Rain Song, that little cool clean riff in Ramble On etc. the list goes on. If you’ve never done anything by Marr before definitely have a go. Guy is a wizard.

I would have NEVER picked this jam up just by ear. And i can learn probably 85-90% of songs people show me by ear. I expected capos somewhere or some kind of weird open tuning. Thats pretty good man. Sounds perfect. And now i can play it thanks to you! Gracias!

You're welcome! It's one of those things you have to try and splice up by ear in the mix. I'm probably still a little bit off maybe? But it sounds good and definitely has that Marr vibe/complexity to it.

@@SpedSpedding Bowie worked with some fantastic guitarists over the years but being of a certain vintage myself Ronno is still number one with me. It was listening to his playing on Ziggy Stardust that got me into rock guitar and inspired me to first pick up a guitar. To this day Ronno's solo on Moonage Daydream still makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck 👍
