Jack-7 reigned supreme back in Season 1. Now, he's as rare as an Eliza player. I don't care, the big guy is still fun to wreck people with.

I'm a Jack player so I understand why people think he's a boring character. That said, Jack is like an old war film. There's build-up, tons of build-up. The Jack player is gonna spend most of his time spacing out and gather all the info they can. Once thats finished though, that's when Jack players go absolutely bonkers, almost Yoshimitsu-esque where they just throw the whole book at you and tell you to deal with it. "Oh you jab check a lot after 2,1? Eat this d+1+2 for big damage." "You sidestep after db1? Take this jackhammer and blue hand." "Trying to punish generic d+4 or full crouch db1 with your i11? Surprise, Jack surprisingly can sidestep those depending on the character and you're gonna eat a df+2." "Can't break throws? Better not tech wrong." "At the wall and don't like to duck? Eat this +9 on block into +5 on block. Don't whiff afterwards or you're gonna get wall bounced for metric crap-tons of damage."

This guide is much better than the one for Lars. It's better to have insight on the strengths and weaknesses of the characters rather than a super-detailed frame analysis for every move in the list.

Jack will probably always be my main. Key to success imo (at least for me) is great poking game. Nothing crazy or beautiful to look at, but does the job and annoys the living shit out of the opponent lol.

Tekken 7 character overviews show the duality of man in its purest form. We have ThatBlastedSalami, analyzing and informing his watchers on how to use every move, their general play style, their goals, their basic combos, a truly deep analysis. Then we have TMM, who goes “here’s these 5 moves you need to kick the crap out of your opponent, here’s what they do well, use that against your opponent, here’s what they suck at, if you’re fighting this guy, abuse it”. No offense to both, they’re both excellent, but I favor TMM a bit because it allows you to fill out the rest of how you play the character, which is what fighting games are all about

Jack doesn't have a 12f punish however df3+4 is important to note as his 13f mid punish. 1,1 I believe does more damage but doesn't wallsplat.

Just played roughly 15 Matches against a russian Jack as Jin. Really hard to get im on him but i finally adapted and whittled him down with high Low Strings and throws . Goldspeed my gobnik, learned a lot.

You didnt mention uf+2 its a decent move since it low crushes and puts the opponent on crouch and gives you +4 on block.

Everyone says this game heavily favors mixups and he has a mix up immediately after every punish, an unseeable low that leads directly to a mix up, the four moves that leave him at +4 and they lead directly into mixups, the best wall damage in the game and incredible combo damage

I hope this character remains the exact same in T8, maybe give him a safe mid, mid string but that might be asking for too much. There is too much BS in tekken nowadays. Jack is so satisfying to play because he has great fundamental tools.

People treat jack like a defensive wall but I say this as a new tekken player, I feel that's untrue. His combos aren't crazy BUT his strings go fucking HARD. he's not a defensive behemoth, he's an immovable slugger and should be treated as such. Solid hits and big damage are his game plan. He moves himself, you don't push him.
