Stuart Fuchs is an award-winning, internationally touring guitarist and ukulele teaching artist who performs and teaches fun & innovative ukulele workshops at music festivals throughout North America, the Caribbean & Europe. Stuart blends mindfulness & music with a playful and inclusive at his annual “Ukulele Zen” retreat held at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck NY - his KZfaq channel “Ukulele Zen” offers weekly ukulele lessons to over 40,000 subscribers. Fuchs, an accomplished guitarist in many styles, has arranged and performed the gypsy jazz guitar music of Django Reinhardt for full symphonic orchestras and was featured on PRI’s "The World” with his award winning gypsy jazz band “Babik”. In 2014 Stuart was awarded a grant from the National Endowment of the Arts for his work bringing healing music to cancer patients at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo NY, where he was a professional artist in residence for eight years. Stuart has toured the world with his ukulele music, workshops and also toured internationally playing his classical guitar with the acclaimed new age Kirtan artist Snatam Kaur. Haven't been on YT for a long while, getting reinstated was a bit of a chore, I'll try to keep things more up to date. Have an abiding passion for Great American Songbook material. Looking forward to learning with you. Ukulele, 4 strings, 4 fingers coincidence, I think not. I find having the lyrics and chords displayed in the traditional manner the easiest way to put the perfect rhythm into the melodies, making the changes appropriately.

I stumbled upon this channel looking for Jazz UKE INFO. As a 50 year jazz player I can say: Excellent teacher. Patient, Positive attitude, Theory is right on but never gos over your head. First time I watched this I didnt even have my UKE with me. Peaceful Dude. Inspiring. I really wiish Id learned theory from him when I was a student.. Great Job.

I hit that first G9 13 and enlightenment was achieved. 🙏 G9 13 and C9 13 sound great with my favorite one finger chords, Am and F9.

Because the ukulele is a high pitch instrument, particularly the soprano and concert sizes, adding 2nds (9th), 4ths (11ths), 6ths (13ths), and/or 7ths to chords in "reentrant tuning" creates semi-tone and whole-tone dissonances that can sound quite beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Hey, cheers from a geezerette....whoa.. I haven't lain hands on a uke since YWCA camp, when I was a teenager. (Wanna do the math, bro? My mood seems to change with more frequent repetition. At first, the same three chord sequence was a bit maudlin, but then became a little kicky. The G7 style note is such a harmonic sound.
