This looks fantastic. Low rules overhead with depth and player interaction. Count me in. Also, Ian did a fantastic job with the artwork. This feels like a beautiful evolution of traditional Euro game artwork.

I’m always happy when a rules video is under 10 minutes and this was easy for me to keep under 10. I love Reiner’s minimalist approach to rules. And Ian did a phenomenal job of bringing a dynamic look to what could easily have been a generic drab looking euro.

This does look like a good game. i like all the options that you have to think about - and the fact you have to get to the top of your 'track' to be eligible to win the game. [like Zoo Vadis]. Lets go!

Having to move up your own track to qualify for victory is interesting and can create some intense interactions if you start blocking others from their own color.

Aw I like the discs. ... You knew someone was gonna say that. I guess cubes are cute too. This sounds like an interesting game, I'm very interested to see it played!

I know! The discs are nice. But functionally…less functional. Haha. I think the ease of gameplay and decrease in fiddlyness is definitely worth it.

Aww, I like the look of the discs, but I imagine unstacking the discs made it more fiddly.

I liked the look of them too. But you’re right, unstacking them was fiddly and caused a lot of bumped pieces - what a headache. Side by side cubes works much better.

WOW This looks like Blue Lagoon the way you put tiles on map but with track and some achievements to do.

Yeah there are some similarities, some more surface level, but still some similarities. The liege of games channel just reviewed this game and talked about cascadero vs a few of his other favorites.

Very excited for this one! I wish you were staying with the wooden discs instead of cubes though. Otherwise, it is incredibly beautiful production!

Look wise I’d choose discs too. Gameplay wise, cubes are much more functional. I think once those adorable horses are in your hands you’ll be pretty happy with how it looks and feels.

@BitewingGames Oh gotcha! I'll trust your expertise. The good Doctor's previous tile placement games are some of my favorite games of all time. This one looks like it will be the prettiest on the shelf!

Looks absolutely lovely! One question about the rules: with the track bonus moving one of your envoys and this not triggering town scoring, would that effectively remove the option of scoring that town with that group? I assume so otherwise you'd need to track which groups scored which towns...

Correct, you would block scoring for that town shown in my example. However, it’s possible you already scored for it if you’ve formed more of a triangle of envoys. And sometimes you have a specific color you’d like to score for twice so it can be beneficial to lose out on one to quickly score for a specific color again.
