RULES:
The object of the game is to get rid of as many dominoes as possible and have the lowest score based on the dominoes remaining before your opponents can do the same.
Setup. Place all the dominoes face down and mix them up. Each player draws dominoes to form their hand.
2 players = 21 dominoes each
3 players = 14 dominoes each
4 players = 11 dominoes each
5 players = 8 dominoes each
6 players = 7 dominoes each
7 players = 6 dominoes each
8 players = 5 dominoes each
Players look at the domino values in their own hand but keep them hidden from their opponents. The leftover dominoes are placed on the side and referred to as the “chicken yard.”
At the start of each round, a starting “double” is placed in the centerpiece. A double, is a domino with the same number of pips on each end. The first round is a double 9 set, and you begin that set with the double 9 domino. Subsequent rounds begin with the next highest double, double 8, and the following round double 7, all the way to double 0 for a total of ten rounds.
If no one has the required starting double then each player simultaneously draws a domino from the chicken yard until the needed double is found. The player who places the double becomes the starting player then play proceeds clockwise.
The next player must play a domino from their hand off the starting double. This domino must have a matching end to the starting double. If the player does not have one, they draw a domino from the chicken yard and play that if possible. If not, the player calls “Pass” and the turn moves to the next player. The following player repeats the process of trying to play off the starting double and this continues until all sides of the centerpiece are filled.
After all the sides are played off the starting double, plays can continue off any exposed end domino as long as the ends match.
If the player is unable to add a domino, then the player must draw a domino from the chicken yard and play that domino immediately if he is able to. Otherwise, he must pass. If there are no dominoes remaining to draw from, then the player simply passes.
If a player plays a double, the double must be placed perpendicular to the domino played off of. The player then calls “Chickie” plus the numbers played. For example, if a double 5 was played, the player would call “Chickie Fives.” The next three plays must be made off that double, creating an arrangement that resembles a chicken foot.
If the player is unable to play on that double, he must draw from the chicken yard and play that domino if possible or else pass. Once the Chickenfoot has completed, the plays can continue off any exposed matching end again.
A round is completed when one player plays the last domino in their hand or no players are able to make a legal play. Then, each player records their points for the round by totaling the number of pips from the dominoes remaining in their hand. An optional rule is to score the double 0 tile as 50 points, in which case you’ll want to play that tile before the round ends.
The game ends after all 10 rounds are played. The player with the lowest total score for all the rounds wins!

Oh, and Chickenfoot Dominoes is normally played with a double 9 set, but you can play with a double 12, 15 or 18 set and more players.

In this game, just like in Mexican Train Dominoes, the starting double is set aside while players are drawing tiles.

When playing chickenfoot, do you have to block with a double number tile or can you play it straight if you want to? I can't find this anywhere and you explain the game so easy. Thanks for any help.

I cannot find in the rules about playing the last double(say #5)when there are only two 5's left to be played. Does everyone have to draw out the chicken yard because they can't play? Or do you stop after the 10th (5) is played.

When a player lays down the double does HE get to play as many of the 3 dominoes to finish the chicken foot before the end of his turn, or do you only ever play 1 dominoe per turn.

What if someone plays a double and there aren’t enough to tiles to cover it? Is that where the rule “no more legal moves” is enforced, so the round ends. Also, does anyone play with a rule where if your last played tile is a double then you are assessed a 50 point penalty?

Wait what are you allow to do this like 5 and 0 on one so that would = up to 30 points because dubl sided 0 is 50 so each 0 is 25 so yeah?
@collin1240
@collin1240 Жыл бұрын
You probably already have the answer by now, but as I understand it, only the double zero domino (blank on both sides) is worth 50 points at the end (if you play with that rule). If a tile was zero pips on one side and 5 pips on the other, it would on'y be 5 points total.

So you can play this game with Mexican train set ?
@collin1240
@collin1240 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, you would just want to remove all of the tiles that have 10, 11, or 12 pips and leave them out of the game if you want to play by the official rules.

Hi, I have a question. In both games, the Mexican train game and chicken foot, do you have to put a token in your lane or can you put a piece in any lane? On the Mexican train, I think you only have to put it on yours unless a player has the public train, but you can put it on someone else's, right? But in chicken foot, can you put in any?

So if you play the 50 point double 0 then you call chickie 0?
@kaylaa2204
@kaylaa2204 2 жыл бұрын
I'm confused "The double blank tile is sometimes counted as 50 points, in which case you'll want to play that tile before the round ends" Doesn't he mean that you wouldn't want to play it? If it's worth 50 points, and pionts are based off the tiles left in your hand, shouldn't you want to keep it in your hand?
