As always a pleasant morning with a new Cutie Pie tutorial and my cup of coffee. Green sleeves oddly enough was one of the first pieces I learned on the Irish Whistle....I’m a big fan of Joannie Madden and have learned a few of her tunes. I’ve been away from the whistle for awhile practicing my ukulele but thanks to you I’m putting some time into my whistling again.

I love your tutorials! I only just started playing tin whistle about 2 months ago (I played flute already), but I've subscribed to a ton of channels for tutorials and have learned so much already. You're definitely part of that and I wanted to say thanks! Recently I hit 200 subscribers and I played the theme to one of my favorite video games on the tin whistle to commemorate it, and I have not only you, but tons of other youtubers to thank for giving me the expertise needed to do that! Keep on making more videos.

Stephanie I'm finally back! So why have I been gone so long? I have been buying and trying different phones and finally decided on this phone. I won't say which phone I have now, but I will say this much... It is a huge improvement over the one that I had before! I thought you were so perfectly beautiful on my old phone, but now that I'm watching you in 720 hd I can plainly see that you are much more than perfectly beautiful! Your eyes are so amazing and of coarse all of you as well! That just goes to show that what I said about beautiful ladies looking even more beautiful in person is very true. And the sound is even better than before. I haven't watched all of your new videos yet, but I'm going to be watching all of them and enjoying them more than ever. It appears that your channel is growing and you are getting some really nice comments. I'm so happy for you! And I'm not surprised at all, because you are the most beautiful and talented of all the whistle teachers that I have seen on KZfaq. To be a beginner whistler you are so amazing, it must be good genes that you've inherited from the "royal we." Sometime I would like for you to tell me about your husband's amazing talents... he must have some things that he is very talented at and enjoys very much. I'm going to be checking out your videos now and I'm sure that I'll have something to say later. By the way... the weather here is fabulous, but a bit chilly. Down in the thirties at night again, but will be in the seventies tomorrow and some flowers are blooming like crazy...with lots of pollen everywhere. I hope your weather is getting spring like by now to some degree. Thank you for all of your hard work...I know you love what you do, but it's hard work and very much loved and appreciated by me and eventually so many others. And what would a comment be without an "I love you!"

Stephanie, This is such a beautiful video of you in such a beautiful setting and your recording is so perfect! Your green outfit is even more beautiful than I hoped for! You are so amazing! You can play anything that you desire and you are the only one that has ever really lit my fire, and you know darn well, when you cast your spell, you will get your way, when you hypnotize with your beautiful eyes, a heart of stone will turn to clay…Please excuse me, I told myself that I wouldn’t get carried away and start sending you love poems, I think I’ve got myself under control for now.I must tell you that I was trying to get my Bluetooth connected and my headset in place when I heard you mention someone’s name and I thought… who is this person she just mentioned and where did this guy sneak in from. Then I replayed the video and to my surprise you were talking about me! I’ve been smiling all day to the point to where my cheeks are sore and I’m sure my smile lines have deepened considerably. Now, about your lovely comment about your smile lines… I have never thought of them as lines, wrinkles or anything other than just being part of your beautiful perfectness. Thank you for always speaking, looking, playing and dressing so perfectly! And thank you so much for doing this beautiful classic English whistle tune. Your low D whistle really sounds perfect for this song. I’ll be working on this version and trying to perfect the half notes… And it sounds to me like you have already perfected them…

I play the version that you play on recorder. The version that I play of Greensleeves on the whistle is in the Key of G and doesn't have any half holes. I think it sounds really good and you can find it as a public domain tune. I can half hole G especially on the regular whistles but find it difficult to do the same with A. Greensleeves is so much fun to play on every instrument and can be played as a popular Christmas song. Great playing and awesome look as always! Your low whistle is just incredible.

I went and looked at the sheet music that I had printed out years ago. My version of Greensleeves in the key of G was off of Margriet Verbeek's recorder music at www.margrietverbeek.nl. When I tried to pull it up just now it said file not found but I am using my IPhone 4. Maybe you will have more luck. On a site from the UK (traditionalmusic.co.uk) I have a version in the key of C. It is a great version in my opinion it has a few F naturals that you might be able to get away with playing an F# on. I hope it is still there on the site. I always played that version on the recorder. I'm not tech savvy but if it is no longer possible to access these I will figure out how to get you copies of my sheet music. I also have a few Christmas books not for whistle that have it in a really easy to play key of G with no half holes at all.

What Child is this, who, laid to rest, On Mary's lap is sleeping? Whom angels greet with anthems sweet, While shepherds watch are keeping? Chorus: This, this is Christ, the King, Whom shepherds guard and angels sing: Haste, haste to bring Him laud, The Babe, the Son of Mary! 2 Why lies He in such mean estate, Where ox and ass are feeding? Good Christian, fear: for sinners here The silent Word is pleading.[Chorus] 3 So bring Him incense, gold, and myrrh, Come, peasant, king to own Him. The King of kings salvation brings; Let loving hearts enthrone Him.[Chorus] Happy sabbath from NZ, lovely song

It blows my mind you're able to get the high A's on the clarke classic. I can't get them on the classic for the life of me. I struggle with transitioning to high notes already, so I can't be confident in saying I just got bad luck when I bought the classic, but I can at least get the melody out on a modern clarke and the sweet tone. Do you need to do anything different to hit the higher notes on the classic?

The Clarke Original is my baby. I learned on it and found it to be so easy for me to go from lower octave to higher. However, some of them are poorly manufactured. The block of wood in the mouthpiece might be installed improperly, causing it to sound like its hissing. A defective mouthpiece makes it sound harsh and difficult to produce a nice sound. It's just a matter of luck trying to find one that is put together properly, but that is costly. My advice is to go to The Whistle Shop website and order a tweaked Clarke Original. They reshape the mouthpiece for a better fit and sound, and it plays like a dream. High notes sound smooth and are played with ease. Best of luck to you.

I bought a tin whistle in D a while back and I'm not sure if this is common but it has a really poor sound, and I think it has something to do with the way its made. It appears to be a sheet of metal folded around into a tube and glued at the seam. It was a brand you recommended too, so I'm wondering if the quality of yours is different than mine.
