In this video I demonstrate how to play the song "Hear About It Later" by Van Halen. This is a great song with a really cool introduction and guitar solo. There are actually some really amazing parts throughout this entire song that are super fun to play. I hope this video helps you out and you enjoy it!

The most personal thing for me . Is I've been such a fan of VH from day one ..that when Eddie passed it was tough. It's taken me about 2 years to listen , remember, and reminisce without tearing up....seeing them live, driving around jamming, and getting through life. VH made it easier somehow.thanks for your appreciation for the music as well. You rock my friend

Well, as I've gotten older and see all these younger cats decipher Ed's playing thru all the new fangled ways, glad to see someone still using the old pen and paper writing down tabs. Haha. My wife and i were going thru some of my old stuff in storage one day and i dropped a notebook full of tabs. She saw it and asked me wth is all that? I said ancient historical tabliture. She looked puzzled of course but, I did somewhat explain. She still didn't get it. Lol. Hear about it later has always been my go to and favorite. Now it can change here and there ya know but, god what a beast of a song. Well Done Marty. Well Done!!

Marty, thanks for posting these VH lessons. You’re an awesome player and I love the way you break the songs down and make some of the Eddie magic seem possible for us mere mortals. I also really appreciate the guitar magazine videos. I’m about your age, and I still have all my old guitar magazines from the 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s. I keep thinking one day I’ll dig out the totes they’re stored in and look through them again. But watching you go through them on KZfaq is much easier on my bad back. 😉 Thanks again and keep up the great work!

Love this!!…..Fair Warning is my favorite VH record…They are all great, but Fair Warning was to me Eddie’s best tone, and his playing was so angry on that record…It was dark, and not as commercially successful as the prior records, but one of their greatest nonetheless….in my opinion of course..

Thank you! I love the album too. Eddie was really gritty in this and dark. I agree. I figured I’d go less commercial and throw one out there for the “fans”. Lol. This album has probably the hardest stuff to learn because it was so experimental. Like Eddie was a kid in a candy store!

@@ajmpatriot4899 that’s so nice of you to say! I know I say it a lot, but I do appreciate the support. I try to just be myself and hopefully it resonates with others. I think finding those connections and making an impact is really important in life. In many ways I feel that connection with the viewers even though it’s all virtual. I don’t know how to do anything any different than I do and I guess I’ve just done it that way for so long I can’t change who I am at heart. I try to get better at videos and content… but at the end of the day I want it to be pure and from the heart. After all that is how music should be. At least that’s my opinion.
