I really like the way you look at subclasses and the choices you make Tulok. I've never really tried to replicate a pop culture character for my games but you make odd choices that really work.

I love the way you've made Jack, Will, Elizabeth, and now Barbossa distinct while still their own piratey selves. Well done!

This is definitely my favorite Pirates of the Caribbean build. I really like how you reflavored samurai for this, that subclass is mechanically really strong but I feel like its flexibility can be a bit hamstrung because you say it and everyone immediately thinks the character has to be from Japan. Also, the cutlass pun was great.

Keeping the sword in your chest is one hell of a flavor choice I love.

Sparrowkabob is actually a local delicacy in Kyoto! I've been there twice, and BOTH times forgot that sparrow was an option on the local menu until I was actually leaving Kyoto...maybe if I ever travel again, I'll try it and report back how good it is or isn't.

This definitely makes perfect sense to me as a Barbossa build. And honestly, if you wanted to do non-Undead Barbossa, you could probably just change the Warlock Patron from Undead to Fathomless. Hell, with Pact of the Blade, that even fits thematically with Barbossa getting that sea magic from Blackbeard’s sword

Although monkey is not included in Find Familiar for Pact of the Chain, it shouldn’t be too hard to convince a DM to allow a reskinned baboon to be your familiar, especially when a baboon has the same CR as other familiars at 0.

Barbossa is Yosemite Sam to Jack's Bugs Bunny...I hadn't thought about it like that, and now this sounds way more fun. I imagine that he uses prestidigitation to make his clothes dirty just to spite the living. _He_ can't smell it, after all.

I made a pirate character that was based on the Admiral Krakenov skin for the Stukov character from heroes of the storm and starcraft 2. He's basically a mix of Barbosa and Davey Jones. He's got a bunch of levels in spore druid and about 3 levels in fathomless warlock. The druid spell list has a bunch of tricks that let him control the wind, waves, and flames. Cantrips like shillelagh, thorn whip, and green flame blade are his go to combat tricks while his spore cloud is up and the giant tentacle from fathomless is waving in the air. Mold earth is a must have because sometimes you need to dig a shallow grave or bury a treasure chest with the wave of a hand. And of course at least three levels of fathomless warlock are needed because you need the swim speed, the quasit familiar that can be reflavored as both a monkey and a parrot, and mask of many faces because his race in Reborn and he's literally a walking talking skeleton with a giant octopus where his left arm and shoulder used to be. The octopus is also his symbiotic entity dark gift. He's a writhing mass of tentacles puppeteering an amnesiac skeleton around and calling himself Captain Wiggly Bones. The name tag and rank insignia on the admirals coat the octopus never lets anyone remove clearly says "Admiral William Brontotheer" in celestial, but Captain Wiggly Bones feels right to him.

I'm here for your Samurai pirate build. Hes not a swashbuckler because he limps too much to run around a lot and just damn good at fighting.

Barbossa is quite the antagonist for Jack Sparrow, hustling the power balance for the naught but humble pirate crew of the Black pearl, this is an interesting take for this one to incarnate the ghost ship pirate stereotype! little fates can be as terrifying as the misfortune to meet a crew of immortal buccaneers, being caught by the Flying Dutchman or never getting a Tangle the lemur build!! (*Shivers*). This one is sure to be a blast of an adventure, and with the power of immortality there is hope that no one with a pistol with a single shot holded for ten years will meddle with your plans.

Introducing your character as a "Pirate-Samurai" is unironically one of the coolest things ever.

Comparing Barbosa and Jack to Yoesmite Sam and Bugs Bunny is the most unexpectedly accurate thing I have heard, on this channel, maybe. There is a lot of competition. Did you combine a True Strike joke with a salty fan joke? Now that's multi-classing!

I was going to suggest Revenant for Barbosa because he has a task he can complete related to his “death”, he can’t die, and he knows the direction and distance from his goal once the coin fell into the ocean. Plus, once his goal is complete, he dies! He does get revived latter but we’re talking about the first movie.

Personally I feel Jack was Depp's best performance. And as well, I think, his performance is the weakest of the main characters. He's the worst pirate in the movie, but I have heard of him. And honestly his performance was pretty good in the first one, which goes to show how incredibly the rest of the cast do their roles. And Geoffrey Rush is easily the best performance of it all, so I'm excited to watch this video. No shade to anyone who feels differently about the actors, just wanted to babble and drop a minor personal tier list. (Sparrow, Turner, Swan, Barbossa)

Actually, the cursed pirates seem to fit the Revenant from the old UA there, even with the condition to lose the curse there. For the Jack the Monkey...while there isn't a normal monkey familiar, ToA does give a way to get a flying monkey as one.

By their own definition keeping the sword in their chest cavity is Homebrew not reflavoring because he's changing the mechanics of conjuring a weapon and making that a non magical process and physically storing the blade within the body

So I've called your channel RAW before as a statement against the assholes, but I meant it as you following mechanics ,not fluff, and primarily to defend you're decision not to use Mercer's stuff. If anyone out there thinks the name or description of a class/ability is "RAW" then they don't understand the difference between mechanics and fluff. A Rogue can be reflavored as a nobleman, a Barbarian can be reflavored as a Samurai, a Warlock can be reflavored as a Sorcerer, etc., and all of these examples are build I've played before. Especially proud of the Barb as I renamed all of the abilities, with Rage becoming Focus, Reckless Attacks becoming Selfless Strikes, etc. P.S. Quick nitpick and I'm sorry, a Rogue's Sneak Attack doesn't have to be "underhanded" or anything. I've been practicing HEMA for about a decade now and I would definitely say that a sneak attack can just as easily be a feint.

Point is your a fairy brawler with more than just lucky charms for spells. Possible Classes: Rouge and Druid: blend misdirection and slight of hand with spells and charms from the emerald isles. Themes: Down on your luck or is the universe simply after you as a symbol of luck and fortune. Whilst on your journey to find your true history be sure to aid your companions with some clever roles. Just be mindful of your lucky charms when building up your pot of gold. Race: Variant Human of the Fey or fairy folk. Gimicks: Gold for Spells: Sacrifice gold for favoritism, build up a healthy tab between you and your gods. Just be mindful of your debts as gods are the worst kind of loan sharks and you might find yourself stabbed in the back with a Nordic Spear.

Better choices while still using the build Anything but True Strike, probably friends if you wish to be charming or Sword Burst reflavored as a saber twirl Once you reach 5th lvl in warlock grab Fear instead of cause fear Since you will already have False Life as a invocation switch the warlock spell version for Bane or Armor of agathys since it has better scaling and can deal damage if they hit you (Chilled to the bone) Next Invocations: Dont grab Beguiling influence since the samurai can give it at lvl 3 instead of insight since he was fooled by Elizabeth the first time, instead grab Undying servitude for a zombie or skeleton that you can use with your Summon Undead at the same time giving you more undead buddies As an undead warlock you dont need gift of the depths since you already dont need to breath and those skeletons walked on the water instead put improved pact weapon here at 5th lvl Warlock then at 7th level get Life drinker for more necrotic damage on your slashes I love warlocks too much
