so i moved schools and my new band teacher gave us all these high notes but i didn’t even learn them yet. so now i’m scared for tomorrow because i don’t know any of the notes. 😣

I remember picking clarinet as my band instrument in Elementary. Loved it! And I totally remember getting frustrated not getting the high notes properly. Wish I had youtube back in the days to show me haha

When I play the C and then add register, why is it squeaking so much? Also, after I remove the register key, why is the high sound still lingering?

The "wiggle test" for your "band face" is a great way to encourage biting. That makes me "frowny face" about the choked sound that will develop.

Make sure all your holes and register keys are all covered / pushed down and please keep practicing , if you want some inspiration last year I was the worst clarinet always squeaking but now I'm one of the very best in band ((: and always hit those high notes with barely any effort

Thank you, this helped a lot. I played the clarinet when I was younger and got a destination In my grade 1 when I was in year 5 at school. But I was forced to quit lessons in year 8. I have recently taken it up again now I'm nearing the end of year 11 and most of it came back like ridding a bike but one thing I lost was my ability to play high notes I had completely forgot how to play it but this video has reminded me thank you so much

Learning to play clarinet. Had it for years, and never bothered to get new reeds. But now I have started to pick it up again. Getting new reeds soon. But practicing the fingers and stuff☺

I can play up to high C ( just the thumb and the register key) but nothing above that when you remove your first finger. Can you do a video on the notes above what you covered today?

we have a concert and only 1 note that needs register key im stressing put it's so hard ! edit: I mean that the note is played a lot but it's the only one with the register key

Hey how do you play high notes really fast? I'm 1st clarinet in Celtic ritual and at one point we go up to D (the really high one) at a really fast tempo. I can play g and above nicely but when I play then really fast I squeak. I use a Yamaha btw and I've been playing for 4-5 years

Well ill try lets see if i can do it because i'm use to bass clarinet which is low and i don't know my high notes and it the schools so im use my regular one for practice.

hello i know this video is old but i wanted to know if u have a bass clarinet. last year i transition to clarinet to bass clarinet and this year im using notes over the break and its really hard for me so i would recommend you to do a vid with bass clarinet over the break!

I hope this will help me. I have a band test at school tomorrow, a playing test that involves high notes. I always have the right fingerings, but my clarinet won’t make the sound. Hopefully this works.

I can get the high G, but it comes out very harsh and piercing. Is there a way to play it more softly? :-/

Ben Nickoloff Depends if we I'll tell you 2 high C' s. Highest of the 2: Press the register key and the key begginers know as the F key. 2nd C: Register key, "F key", E, D, C, Bb, A, G and finally the F# (I think I don't have my clarinet right now but it's the lower one to the left) I hope this helped.
