I wish my parents had forced me to learn an instrument. I also wish my parents would’ve beat the foolishness out of me when I was young.

Not sure as to what degree you're trying to recite the original. That said, you've missed the 9th on beat one - the broken arpeggio intro in 16th notes should be (right hand) G5-A5-F5-F6. F6 being the note we hear ringing at the end of the quick riff. There's a couple more places where you're creating chords that don't comply - example - at the end of the phrase "finest school in town", you're going to the Dominant (CMaj) - if memory serves me well, that phrase ends with a Gmin7 chord, then goes directly into FMaj to begin the next phrase. That Gmin7 also sets up the chromatic bass into the pre-chorus: G-G#-Amin Amin/C to Dmin (He was born a pauper to a ...) All said, you have much of it right - better than I. Hope you don't mind my direction. Sometimes a good "convincer" is to use a keyboard through headphones, while listening to the original in mono - set a good balance and listen for "extra" notes - either from the recording, or from your playing - it helps. I'm not trying to undermine any theory/ear training you've had. Many times I have to let the "dust" settle and remember "the bass don't lie" - the brain can fool the ears, but if you find a chord that you know isn't justifying itself the way it should - the bass don't lie.
