Mary Sues also succeed at what they do constantly or never really suffer consequences when they fail. That she's always been connected to The Force in a way, that she always knew/suspected all the dark parts of her past and had just been running from them all along. She waited for her parents, because that's better than admitting they were dead. She wanted to be a hero, because that's better than admitting you're related to the greatest monster there has ever been and could likewise be such a monster. Have Rey have been running all this time from her problems and so when she and Kylo have this connection, she uses it to finally be honest not just with him, but herself. She isn't sure if Kylo can be saved, but at the end of the day, she has to have faith that its possible. If only, because that means that in her own eyes, she too can be saved.
