Hello Shane, Cracking song to learn. I haven't played much lately as I've been training for a marathon, which is this Sunday the 14th I'll be pushing my son in a wheelchair. Then I can learn and play more. It's great to see your subs growing.

Thank you James - it's so funny you mentioned that open A note....I'd been playing it without that note for decades....when I went in to tidy it up to make the video I heard it in the recording. I really like it. Best to you! Shane

@@freesk8 I took something else out of this lesson. As a campfire guitarist , I was strumming the D chord ( yes it’s an E before some smartarse corrects me ) and trying to pick the melody. Now I’m playing the melody and strumming in the space between notes. The difference is amazing.

Thanks Shane, I am picking up rifts faster with you. I like how you incorporate, the slow down version, and get a handle on cord changes before moving on, and "the sing-cord change warning works well". Same song(s) different teacher, and things come together like magic

Thanks so much for posting this Shane. I’m having a little trouble incorporating the strumming. Are you muting your “Chicka Chicka’s?” I’m getting a full D chord and it sounds terrible.

Great point David - thanks for being here. Best to make the melody 'primary' and not wash it out with strumming that is too loud/aggressive. I call them 'whisper strums' - maybe just the top (thinnest) 3 strings or so.....nice and light in the strumming will bring out the melody. Best to you, Shane
