I am a free hand musician(read armature with no formal music education that learns by pressing buttons until a string of it sounds good and go from there). Practice. Get familiar with the instrument then the music will come to you. I realized the magic of composing my own songs after I got the opportunity to play on an organ and man is it awesome to go from pressing single keys to stringing along chords you found by ear. (when you got three keyboards including a bunch of pull switches and foot pedals in front of you, and full freedom to play with them its cool)

For some reason t couldn't play accordion for almost an year and when I did I was getting stuck when the bellows got too closed and then there was a little pause. Thanks for making me 'aware' that if the bellows are too close while playing, a slight 'pause' may occur and hence that can be avoided as advised by you. Great advice. Thanks and Regards. This is wonderful! I barely survived 2 years of accordion lessons in junior high school without ever understanding what the switches were doing with reed combinations or understanding right hand chord structures on the piano keyboard... which you cover very nicely in your introductory lessons. I probably should have stuck with the old borrowed 48 (or 52?) bass instead of moving to the 120 bass as early as I did. I think it outweighed me. (I also think the "teacher" was mostly an accordion salesman, extracting as much money as possible from my parents. As well as getting me started on a bad habit of cracking my knuckles.) Your gradual lessons on the smaller instruments are almost inspiring me to go back to the beginning! But those two frustrating years with the big accordion did teach me to read music... enough to give up the instrument entirely and switch to ukulele in high school, followed by guitar, banjo, mandolin... And now at 71 I am starting to learn the fiddle! Here's hoping that your excellent accordion lessons inspire people to a lifetime of playing and appreciating music of all kinds!

bought a brand new accordion in the mid-80s learn it from another student in St.Petersburg, USSR. I could go the school but did not have time because I was a student. Due to studying and running after girls didn't have much time, so I had to sell the accordion and left Russia. If I bought it from ist year, maybe learned to play a little bit. In the same way, I just started to learning Harmonium(like an accordion). Learn a little bit of Sargam, but after 3 months got admission to college in the capital city and had no time to practice there, but learned a little bit about the bamboo flute or a flute made of plastic(Hohner) myself from 5-6 years old. I wanted too much to learn Accordion. at that time soviet people were one of the best, sometimes best players in the world.

I'm just here via random thought 🤔 💭 lol but anyway, I always thought of the accordion as being a super difficult instrument to learn and master because it's like a very multitasker type of instrument. Like the piano keys (melodies and chords as like two more sub components of the instrument), the holes or buttons on the opposite side, then you have to use the bellows to accentuate the sound (I'm a guitar player, so my mind thinks of it as like a wahwah/expression pedal, or like the pedals on a piano) and also the... tone keys (?) On the left and right that I just now learned existed, so there's even more things to multitask, and so I wondered how they (accordions) worked, and how someone would go about approaching this multitasker's wet dream of an instrument lol like guitar is multitasking too; fret hand, strum/picking hand, and even percussion, but I think of it, and asked from drums, which I also know how to play, and it is a heavy multitask instrument as well, and the accordion seems to be up there the the drums in that regard. Even other instruments like the flute or violin, still difficult, but not multitask heavy like the accordion... It isn't really used in most forms of popular American music-pop, country, jazz, blues, rock, as an umbrella term for all types of rock, metal, punk (unless you're Gogol Bordello ha)-obviously in tejano, cumbia, polka, Oompa, other Eastern European folk music, or "world music" (also I find it interesting how these types of music developed on opposite sides of the world/in different regions of each side, yet they sound rather similar), it's a staple instrument, but I don't really listen or know about that stuff, so there's like a uniqueness to this instrument that makes me wonder. Very informative video!
