How to Play Power Alacrity Mechanist - The Easiest Support Class in Endgame GW2 in 2023

This guide will focus on the Power Alacrity Mechanist in a basic capacity. It is a decent option for CM fractals, decent for raids and very good for landscape and meta events.
The class is super simple to play, with no auto attack rotation to interrupt and only one weapon it is super easy to get close to dps benchmark and easy to get decent dps on bosses.
Even though it doesn't hit as hard as other dps support classes it is still competitive and sees play in PUG groups fairly often.

I’ve been telling people PAM is goated. Most underrated build in GW2 imo. No one gives it it’s proper respect. Nice to see it getting some respect.

Awesome! Yes snowcrows and discretize are aimed at elite/speed running raiding and fractals. I'm trying to explain why they build the way they do

I think Condi Alac build is a lot more involved and fun. Definitely more dps but a little drop in CC. If I mained Mechanist I would play both builds, but if I only picked 1 I would pick PAM because it can do every raid and fractal (except Soulless Horror)

Thanks for the guide! I just wanted to ask, do you think condi alac mech or power alac mech is better currently? I’m a new player and I’m torn between which one to choose for gearing

The condi alac mech is better for overall dps and great fun to play. But then you can't do certain raid bosses and fractals efficiently e.g. Conjured Almagamate, Keep Construct, Adina etc in raids and CM 99 and 98 on fractals. So If I picked 1 to gear between the 2 I'd choose power first, then make condi

Hello thank you for the build! I just fully unlocked my mechanist and I was wondering if its possible to go Mace+Shield for the primary and having the rifle for secondary, I like the melee playstyle :'). Also, with the new patch is there anything different from this build? Again, thank you for the guide :)

Mace shield is usually more of a heal alac mech build. In terms of the changes I've seen, if anything it'll make the build better as the mech pulsing barrier and alac uptime will be better

Hi i , just a few questions you put 5star for fractals but its not gonna a problem when you cant overload alac ? like when you gon on split you kinda bad for that no ? :/ and this is me or the mecha is not taking our concentration for boons duration ? :)

Hey mate, you can definitely ramp up alacrity super easily and this will help for split phases. The mech is taking concentration from us and this is helping with the F skills cooldowns. Even if there is boon overload, I'd still just pump out alacrity. This is such a good fractal class to play

Is there a way to take this build and modify it slightly for pure solo play to have both alac and quickness permanently? I take you need to take the quickness in mech grandmaster trait but then you lose a bit of alac generation I presume? Can you compensate this with additional BD?

Perhaps with rune of the firebrand and a mace for your mainhand and barrier utikity you could get to a decent uptime of alacrity, quickness and might combination but I haven't done the math on this

hey, why would the rifle sigil impact be better for fractals vs raids?

So with a impact sigil you get a permanent 3% dmg boost and 7% when stunned or knocked down. In fractals there are more CC defiance bars in general especially in CM fractals with the result of the defiance bar being stunned, whereas in raiding there far fewer defiance bars. And most NB the defiance bar result must be a stunned effect. If you are unsure , mouse over the defiance bar icon to see the result when the bar is broken.... sorry for the long reply 😅

@@MoGaiinz so sigil of air has 3 seconds cooldown. In raiding the only really stun effect is keep construct, so the constant dps from sigil of air equates to more dps. But in Fractals, especially in good groups you phase must fights in 1 CC break bar, the extra dps from sigil of impact equates to more... but like I said in the video, I just have 1 rifle with sigil of air and I use it for raiding and fractals... but if you get into some of the high end groups with properly big dps, sigil of impact will scale better, but if you're in pug/not great groups you won't really notice the dps increase as much

Im confused where to boon duration is coming from. Is it just food? Also, is there a build that i dont have to spend money on expensive food and can have 100% boon uptime and still mostly be besrzerker

That's pretty much this build. Soul pastries are like 55copper on NA server. The boon duration is coming from the dividers gear and you can use soul pastries if you want more

@johnrobb5975 oh ok thanks for the food advice. Ya I watched it back and I couldn't see the gear stats cause you don't mention getting Diviners during the gear talk, or show the accessories. I got diviners stats figured out and my boon duration is correct now. Thanks.

Yes it is, you will do a bit more dps with grenade kit but usually another utility might be needed

Yes, this is still super good. The only difference is mech genius now gives longer cd on skills if you cast them outside of the range, so it effectively makes it so much easier to keep up boons, as the mech keeps its inherited stats

It has been hit by several nerfs, so the dmg is a lot lower atm, it will do well in some content but us considered to low dmg for fractal CMs atm

So far the change is on cooldown on mech skills, so at this point it's actually mostly just going to effect cooldowns. It's actually kind of better for me he with high boon duration.

Well heal scourge is looking interesting with alacrity and who knows, perhaps the confusion rework will make mirage better on some fights. But yeah, it could be the destruction of 2 good classes 😔

I have absolutely nothing at all to do with this game. Just dropping in to say this showed up in my feed randomly and I actually stopped because I could not for the life of me figure out what the fuck this video is even about from both the incredibly long title and the very detailed thumbnail... you stuffed a novels worth of information into the first thing people see when they see this video... and yet you fail to include the most basic information of "Hey this is a build guide for guild wars 2!" Apart from an abbreviation at the end of the title... which, hey, your choice, but that's why it showed up completely randomly on my feed, the algorithm doesn't have a clue what to do with a title like that mate.
