You are one of my all time favorite channel on KZfaq. Most channels on KZfaq only care about Zeppelin, Hendrix, etc. But you teach songs by post-punk bands, and that's amazing. I would love to see some Joy Division, Sonic Youth, more Smiths, more Television, Cocteau Twins, Wire, Swans ... Please don't stop making videos. You are incredible.
@acpg

Thanks very much. Yes, I obviously love Hendrix, Zep and all that too, but KZfaq is already saturated with lessons like that, so I'm just trying to do my own thing and find stuff that's a bit less obvious. Some great suggestions there - will bear them in mind for future videos.

YES! Fantastic video. As a life long PiL fan I must say this is great to find. I use to jam on this song in the basement with friends as a teenager and I did it half correct and half made up. Great to see this spot on how-to tutorial. Funny that years later I get to learn the proper way! I've always loved Levene's playing and that era of the band. Thanks for the great video Adrian and keep them coming. Happy New Years from NYC!

Hi Adrian - thanks for posting this one. As others have commented it's really good to see tutorials of some less mainstream, highly inventive guitar players getting posted. I've always struggled with the timing on this song. It seems like both the drums and bass are playing strict 4/4 time but Keith Levene seems to be playing in 6/8 for the most part! The only time I really get it on track is for the A and D bars at the end of each 8 bar cycle. Baffling but brilliant!

the excitement about this records release was intense. the oranges and lemons in Oxford was a punk pub with the best punk ska reggae new wave juke box known to man. also a live venue regular to John ottway and wild willie Barrett , the ruts you name it. when a new release of interest was out it would be in the juke box by lunchtime. the O&L was full at lunchtime to hear this. it did not disappoint! over and over it went. the guitar was something you really had not heard before especially with Jims solid beat and wobbles phenomenal bass. never seen your channel before, great presentation sounds ace.ty for picking up on this great single. Now I know how to play it too!

Given your proclivity to focus on guitarists like Keith Levene, etc., can I suggest you look at John McKay (from the early Banshees)? I feel he's one of the earliest (and most important) influences on nearly _all_ of the so-called 'post-punk' guitar players we know of today... _Nobody_ has done a credible job of working out most of his work, save maybe _Mirage_ . I'd love to see you tackle _Placebo Effect_ and _Icon_ . Thanks, and appreciate your work BTW...

And I nod at him and he nods at me and I know that he knows that I know who he is. For anyone not aware check out dung beatle by Billy Childish and Sexton Ming, one of the most moving pieces of music I have ever heard.
