Hey all today i bring you a guide on how to play Ruby Rose, i'll be covering her normals, specials, combos, neutral and some general team building tips.
I feel like there's very little educational material for Ruby even though she's very popular and i hope this guide can help the players understand the character more.
Ruby is the most fun character in the game in my opinion and her being a top-tier is a cherry on top.

Just picked the game up this month and I never used gun blast while playing ruby because I didn't get it . So thank you for showing me how to use it and what a disservice that was to my game plan.

I find that most of my combos drop cus of being too far when starting the combo especially when connecting 5A, 5BBB. I also struggle a lot when it comes to high jump combos. Any tips on hitting combos more consistently and high jumping?

5A.5BBB should not be done at the tip of the hitbox of 5A cuz it drops the 5B follow-ups on some characters. The high jump button combos differ between characters hitboxes cuz sometimes you need to do H.JABB or H.JBAA,this requires some experimentation and you need to slightly delay the button presses during the jumping buttons. Hope this helps!

So as someone new to bbtag, can you give me some advice on High Jump Cancelling in general? I've been turned away from characters like Jin, Izayoi, and Ruby for a while now because they have so many HJC combos and I just struggle to get that input consistantly

Both Ruby and Izayoi require you to delay you air attacks for the high jump combos to land, usually after your grounded combo sends your opponent in the air you need to high jump,press the first air attack button then delay the following attacks to land. So for example for Ruby this would be something like this: 5BBB>HJ.A(immediately)>JB(slightly delayed)>JB>jump cancel>JBB>J236B. You may also check my Ruby Rose 2.0 combo video where I can execute some high jump combos,the video is in 60FPS so you'll be able to slow down the video to be able to determine the timing of the delayed button presses. Hope this helps!

i just got into tag and i really like this guide, but i have a problem. i can't seem to land the next hit after using gunblast to dash forward, i always keep dashing. am i presing the button too fast?

Hey there, you need to delay the button press after gunblast otherwise you'll dash, timing is a bit tricky but once you get the hang of it the following but becomes easier to land

U can just Gunblast forward instead and cancel it into her meter burn ground attack allowing more pressure options while mixing up with your partner this will take time to learn tho and a bit unsafe.
