Hi , I have a couple of questions: 1) is there a maxium of cards you can hold in your hand? 2) either you play or discard a card.. but you always take one from the draw pile at the end of your turn? thanks!

1) In a 3-5 player game, players are dealt 6 cards each; in a 6-7 player game, players are dealt 5 cards each; and in an 8-10 player game, players are dealt 4 cards each. Since on your turn you either A) play a path card, B) play an action card, or C) discard a card face down, and THEN draw a card, you should always end your turn with the same number of cards you started the game with. 2) Yup!

Can't help it : every time I watch a game video, I have to look at the games in the background ! Two reasons : any ideas of new games and (whispering) what are games (s)he has that I have ! So I am going to have a look at Risk Starcraft, Ticket to Ride and Forbidden Island (if I am reading this right) and we both have Carcassonne, Scotland Yard, Ingenious, and... Saboteur, of course ! I know, it sounds very vain, but it just feels like we have things in common, no ? Thanks for the video !

If you like Risk and know starcraft, then Starcraft Risk is great! I think it's a lot nicer to play than regular risk, even though it's topologically the same [see our podcast on topology]. Ticket to ride is classic fun, and Forbidden Island is like a simpler, quicker Pandemic. All are lovely. Enjoy!

Sir can you play a broken tool again on the same player with a broken tool that has been never discarded with him?

As long as it’s a different tool. You can’t break a tool that’s currently broken. However, as soon as they fix it, you could break it again (if you want to ruin your friendship!)

Sir does a saboteur immune to broken tools at the end of the round after revealing there character? My example is if I'm a saboteur but have a broken tool in front of me but I prevent the gold diggers to the goal, I can also earn gold nuggets?

Good question! Just read the rulebook which says “Saboteurs are not affected by this rule”. Either way, keep in mind that missing out on gold from broken tools is an OPTIONAL rule.

Sir in dealing with gold nugget cards theres a rule that if a player has a broken tool in front of them which is a gold miner not a saboteur, he can't earn gold nugget card. My example is what if I reached the goal and all of us are miners but the two players have a broken tool in front of them. How many will I deal nugget cards, 2 or 4 nugget cards? Why is that in other demo the one who reaches the goal first and deals and chooses nugget card and passes back again to the one who reached the goal because the other has a broken tool on them. I'm confused in dealing nugget cards because theres no situation to this on many instructions

Unfortunately, there are no more clear rules on this. It is optional to deny miners with broken tools a reward of gold nuggets. Even the game’s creator has acknowledged some of these rules are not that fleshed out, so I would say with this one, come up with an agreed upon house rule :)

Sir I have a question if you reach the gold but you have a saboteur not a dwarf on your hand can you have a gold nuggets?

Nope! Only regular dwarves earn gold nuggets for reaching the proper goal card. If you’re a saboteur, stay away from the gold during the game!

Sir my last questions are using the tool cards and earning the gold nuggets :) those tool cards that I saw are the lamp, wagon and a pike with a red symbol which means broken. If one of those I used to a player and the player didn't repair it what will he do on his turn? If someone reach to the goal how many gold nugget cards does he earn (take). Let say on a 3 to 4 player game and thus the players have the dwarfs, the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th player, how many gold nugget cards earned? Thanks :)

if we got disabled, can we use action card to fix the broken tools for another player? or maybe use another action card like seeing map or broke the path stone?

Yes, you can keep playing actions and maps if you have a broken tool. You just can't play any mine tiles.

So a 4 player game can have no Saboteur

Sean V yup. So either everyone thinks that there is a saboteur and turns on each other like crazy, or it's just plain cooperation. Or maybe, you can simply ditch the rules and have a balance of 2 miners and 2 saboteurs. It makes the game waaaaay more interesting.

Saboteur 2 uses a whole new gold distribution rule system - it's all about how many WINNERS there were. We talk about it at 3:33 in the video, but I'll give two examples: Say there were 2 saboteurs in the round, and they met their win condition (the gold wasn't found). In that case, since there were 2 winning dwarves, they each earn 4 gold (3:59). Now, say there were 3 saboteurs and a profiteer (who wins whether the saboteurs win or not). In this case, there are 4 winning dwarves (3 sab + 1 prof), so each of them earn 2 gold (except the profiteer always earns 2 less gold, so in this case 0 gold - bad deal for him!)
